I think it's hilarious that this arguement has gotten this far. Sorry, but I don't go around saying that our beaches are better than the ones in Cali. What's the point, everyone knows it's just a load. Of course the Hamb BBQ isn't in TX. The organizer of the BBQ is in Cali, most of the people are in Cali....etc. It wouldn't exactly be economical for them to plan it here. Plus, I have recently learned that many 'fornians would melt in the heat here anyway. No offense, I would trade for your weather anyday. But look, we do BBQ, you do beaches. What's the problem?

Why do we need to put up. If you have ever been to any texas event car or other wise there is BBQ. You do it once and think you reinvented the wheel. A guy in cali talking smack about texans and BBQ you make me laugh. All bbq is good KC style, texas style, memphis stlye. It all depends on what mood im in. Carolina you can keep your coleslaw.

Damn these texans get mighty touchy about all this bar-b-que stuff. course all that humidity must help keep that meat all nice and moist just in case the over cook it.

think since there is already another event in the works that they ought to bring thier humidity lovin asses out to the left coast and fire it up with the rest...

(though I really want to go to the Hunnert Car pile up, looks like a damn fine time)

  4. Aw. I'm getting down to the wire for the Hot Rod Reunion. So I have to quit following this thread for a few days. It's been fun talking about food, but what I mean is, call your HAMBers for a get together, there's a whole bunch of great cars and people in your area or a reasonable drive away. Texas, New York, Georgia, Tennesee, you pick the one that fits. Get together and do a pot luck, take pix and post 'em up.

Texas brisket rules. There, I said it. Now get it together and do it.

What can I say? I am partial to TEXAS, born and raised. I'm respect'n what everyone says about their state because we're all proud about our area.

Now a little about our BBQs. Where I come from, these are usually started within a matter of minutes after someone suggests it. And it isn't a little affair either. The food is very tasty, no matter what is cooked - not to mention what beverages are served.

Yes it is true. All things here are BIG. Give you an example - it only takes eight grapefruit to make a dozen. It's just plain awesome!
