…and they say it couldn’t happen. No pics yet, just had to share this, and couldn’t have happened during a better car show month, amidst Cruz N Eureka and Billetproof. Met her at the hop, she was selling 50/50 tickets, but soon she was hittin’ the dancefloor with me, knew all the words to the oldies, has a scalloped ’63 Nova she’s been working on, her family runs a local cruise-in when in-season. Took her to brunch the following Monday, she showed me the Nova in the family shop. Started it up, g***ed ‘er up, took ‘er cruising for apparently the first time in a year. It’s now up on the racks getting more work done.
Foolish teenaged stuff, man- before we got in, I put my car coat on her – just to try it on fer size, y’know – she was hip to it, popping her hair up in the back. Her mom playfully pretended not to notice. Man, she knows how to drive that Nova to the fullest.
Of course, we connected quick on a lot of other topics, but being with someone that shares the automotive p***ion is a new and overdue one for me It’s all still kinda new (known her for a week and a half), and we’ve got plenty of time.
I’ve been to car shows and seen mates that are also into the scene, and wondered where they find ‘em (when I meet someone, I make the lifestyle known upfront, as if I had kids, and they’re polite about it at best. This one’s been building a Nova with her dad).
Well, she’s due over tonight after Work, gotta clean up this lil’ bachelor dump, just been meaning to share this trippy experience. Did you experience something similar, “finally” at some point? How’d you meet your car chick? Or car chicks, did you have a hard time finding a car dude?

    I was lucky.
My wife and I are both artists and a mutual friend made me go to her friend's art opening. After we pissed each other off, I asked for her phone number.
She decided that I had most of the qualities that she was looking for, including building and appreciation for old things.
Now she encourages me to tinker with the old cars...
Treat her like a lady. Show her you value her.

No man, kinda startled me at first... ;) We're still gettin to know each other's past, o'course, heh heh.
You guys rule- I almost didn't write this, thought it'd be too sappy, but when it's been so long since you felt like a teen again, it's hard to keep it in.
Crusty, she might be joining me to yer club meet, if that's cool.

The first time she shoes up in comfortable shoes, you gotta run, run for the hills.

Trust me, it is just as hard for car chicks to find car guys. Lots of guys that I have gone out with that "knew" about cars knew NOTHING and talked to me like I didn't either. It has made for some entertaining times though. I always get a chuckle out of the things I overhear guys tell oblivious girls at shows about cars..."Ya that Ford has a 350 in it" or "Studebaker is a Ford model". Congrats though on your find, car couples always work out better with car people--the words of experience!

    6 years and still brainwashing.
getting rid of home and garden t.v. helped alot though.
I still get a little excited when she says "I saw a car I liked today..."

One of my first dates with my wife was to the race track for an open lapping day. She was my pit ***** all day. Helped me change tires and check fluids, helped strap me into the car before each session, made sure I had plenty of food and water, took pics of me on the track -- even had words with the race director who had black flagged me for no good reason. I knew then that she was a keeper for life! :)

Were going on 17 years this december and my new (easy guys) Gl*** 32 roadster body and frame will be here in about an hour and ive been out to the small but workable garage to move my 32 coupe and the harley. She told me after I got out of the horsepistol and got going again that i needed another project. Hell ya.

Now THAT would have been a story. "I met the greatest car chick today. She was in a barn, buried under a bunch of garbage for the last 30 years. Scrubbed all the bird **** off and she still looks pretty good. A little mud in the quarters, but still workable"

Anyways, best of luck to you both. That's something you can't go to eBay and bid on.
