I just found a girl I could get along with, then turned her into a car chick. She was always willing to share in my interests, but now that she's got her own project she's getting really excited about it.

I found my car chick almost two years ago. She loves that I have an intrest in Hot Rods. Thats one of the first things that we talked about when we met by chance in a dinky bar. When she told me that she got a ticket racing in a hopped up fourspeed Model A when she was 17, racing on a blvd. in L.A. Aw man, I melted. Chicks that love hot rods are the best. When you are working on your cars, its not something that they look at as putting up with, because they understand it. There's a difference.

I met my wife in tech school. She didn't end up finishing, but she could rebuild a 16 speed allison transmission pretty well. I'm a keeping her.

All I can ever ask for is that a woman that I'm with is accepting of my car addiction, and if she's a good woman she'll embrace it because it makes me happy. Most women don't understand this basic truism. I went to art museums and jazz clubs with my ex (she was an art major), but she'd always ***** about how much money I spent on new parts. Dumb ***** didn't realize that even though i may have dropped 200 bucks on valve covers, she spent almost 400 for a designer purse!!!Finally i got fed up with her ****, broke it off with her and bought a set of 58 edsel wagon taillights with the money i would have spent taking her selfish *** out. yeah, i'm not bitter

You're lucky. My wife is starting to come around, even scoping out old cars setting behind the farms she drives by out here in the sticks.

The funniest thing was my mother-in-law. She doesn't get the car thing, and when I drug my '33 5-window basket case home she was trying real hard to find something positive about my coupe. So she told my wife,"Well, I guess that car might make a nice planter." hahahaha

Besides falling in love the old fashioned way (think 40's romance movies) my wife was the only one besides me that could drive my car. I had a '29 Model A coupe, '47 flathead w/isky cam and 2 97's, '39 trans hooked to the stock A rear and torque tube. Got a picture somewhere of her getting a little air under the right front going for second. This was my only car and this was in northern Michigan (balmy winters) and no heater.
We've been going steady for over 45 years (42 married), 2 great kids and seven grandkids. Think it's too early to decide to keep her?:)

I never dated a 'car chick'.

Now that I've been married for sixteen years, I'm beginning to think that I might not get to...

...but I told my wife she has to come drive the Chupacabra at the track when I get it together. So here's hoping!

At least my daughter digs cars. And only two years until drivers' license. Hmmm. Gotta' get busy.

I met mine on bikes. She kinda chased me a while (I wasn't really lookin to get caught) or so she says. I knew she was different when she carried a bigger, cooler knife than I did.
She helped with the Merc all the way, did the interior, and whatever else she could. Now we're building her a 58 Pu.

Good for you, Hombre. I sure wouldn't mind if my woman took an interest in my car obsession. I even suggested we find her a project to tinker on ... and she said she might possibly be interested in a Karman Ghia. (barf!) Probably just to shut me up.
As it stands now, she does her music and I do my car. And never the 'tween shall meet.

Thats it! We need something like the H.A.M.B. but for dating. A chat room or something for people who are into cars to hook up, 'cause I wanna find one too!

Congrats and good luck with the girl. My girlfriend "appreciates" old cars, but she has the same look on her face at car shows that I have when I go shopping with her. She can deal with it in small doses and that's enough for me...and she knows cars make me happy and that's enough for her. It is cute though, when she tries to talk car tech and is totally off(especially with her English accent). There was a breakthrough at Billetproof though...when she saw a flathead and said, "Wow, those Stromberg 97's on that flathead are in really good shape!" That made my day...

Hate to put a damper on this deal, but sometime chicks just "say" that they dig cars to get the guy, once that's done so are they. There is also the guy who has the car girl, who flies 2500mi across the country to move in with him & see what the car guy has for rolling stock, takes them out for rides while he's @ work & get guys #'s, y'know just for ref!. Lays claim to all that owned by the guy while they're @ car shows.
Beware of the "so called friends" that hang around your place to hang out with you guys in order to try steal the girl-this is reality & happens all of the time. Just figured that I put the tail side of the coin out there as well.

My car girl seems to love it nearly as much as I-you ought to see our back yards-Hee,Hee,Hee!!!

I turned my wife into a car chick.

...by buying her a Model T to work on.

We sold the T and replaced it with an A sedan.

Now I can justify buying expensive car goodies by telling her it's for the model A ...(not specifying which one, I own a 30)
