Oh ,ya'. Most of my colection is back in storage, my wife needed my display cabinets for her business. I think I've got about 35 1/18 die cast cars waiting to go back on display. Most are replicas of cars I've owned in the past, but I'm still looking for a 1/18 '37 Chev cp., I've never been able to find one in my 30 year search.

I tend to prefer die cast which is what most of my collection is with just a few plastic. You can get creative with die cast using a good dremel tool and some JB Weld. You can also use both die cast and plastic parts to create something. Some of my design ideas for a full size build started with building a model first. I have several models of my favorite full size cars I have owned and currently need to finish a larger 1/25th scale die cast model of my custom 56 ElCamino. I have a lot of the smaller die cast and usually will not collect anything bigger than 1/24th.

Die cast is a disease. There is no cure. When a new model comes out, the "must have it" gene kicks in. The model companies count on it!

I'm not much on die-cast, but I have had this since the sixties, I originally got it in my stocking as a kid, its pretty cherry. There was always a corgi or matchbox in my stocking growing up but most of them didn't survive.

Guys here is one I picked up to do a Stone Woods Cook replica out of but am nervous about taking it apart and damaging stuff in the process. Any one have any tips for dis***embling one of these and removing the trim without damaging it? I sure as hell don't want the decals on the side so I don't care about them but would hate to break anything else.

...just be real careful, you can heat up the pins on the back side of the trim very lightly with a lighter, to remove it...with lots of patience....I'm doing something similiar.
