I am making some door panels and I want to roll beads in them to stiffen them up. I am starting out with a 24" x 35" panel about 24 gauge I think.
The question is if I put several beads through out the panel both horizontal and vertical and an 'X' in the middle, will the panel dimensions change? Will it shrink, stretch or stay the same? 3/8" or 1/4" or maybe a combination of different beads. Thanks.

  2. Yes, it will shrink. Trim to size after bead work done.

Get yourself some cheap galvanized pieces and run some tests.Make them a little wider and see what happens.Just use the same gauge material.Dont tighten rollers too much,it will leave a die line Fedcospeed(A Division of Stankwell Motors)

Whenever bending or beading a panel you'll loose about 1/16" for every bead or break in the metal. So figure out how many beads your putting in and add to the overall size.
