Hi, I`m on the tail end of installing a straight axle(42 International)in my Rambler wagon altered wheelbase project using gm metric calipers. The longest brake lines i can find are 16 inches.Does anyone know were i can find lines between 19 and 21 inches(In rubber).......Thank`s
A quick search didn't turn anything up. You could have them made at a hydraulic shop...but they seen kinda long. What about running a rear flex line to the axle and then hard lining behind the axle to regular size flex hoses at the spindles? You'd have to add tabs to hold the free inner end of the spindle flex hoses but that wouldn't be hard and, personally, I think it would be a cleaner look as well as a little safer than having long hoses dangling near moving components and headers. Just a thought...
If you try what Hackerbilt suggests - remember that those are floating calipers - they do move some...oops never mind - I missed the part where Hackerbuilt suggests the second rubber line ;-0 Can you post a pic of your setup - still not sure why you need lines so long.
You might look at mid eighties chevy truck, about 21.5 inches long. You can find alot of info at napaonline.com. The site is a pain in the ass to use, you have to keep changing the vehical - year , model, ect. and use the job search not the part search. They have alot of info when you click on a part it will bring up all the details. The Chevy truck brake lines have a left & right due to a short section of steel tubing on the caliper end, I had to slightly reshape to fit my application. OME black rubber not aftermarket stainless and only 12.69 pn# UM38183 good luck J.J.
