Anyone know what happened to this Car? Came across this article a few years back, and I fell in love. Someone had posted that they had seen it sitting in a field in Piqua, OH.

Jim Lakey owned a speed shop right off of I-75 in the 50s and early 60's. The building is still there. As far as that car sitting in a field, I doubt it. Maybe it was in the 70's sometime but not now. The car recieved Rod & Cusom Magazine's best appearing car trophy at the '62 NHRA National Drags

Man I would have to drop a shit load of Acid and pills to think of these things. '49 Olds Engine with a Algon injections unit? As ugly as that thing is, it still gets my blood pumping.

OK I know it's been a while since you guys posted on this subject but figured I would chime in. My dad grew up across the street from Jim on Caldwell St in Piqua Jim moved to Canada sometime in the late 60's early 70's to work on the power lines as he worked for Pioneer electric. My Dad is 99.9% sure the car went with him to Canada. Jim was later killed while working on the power lines. There apparently was also a circle track car that Jim built my Dad said he was an amazing craftsman when it came to building race cars said that he could braze with a coat hanger and make it look like a tig weld.
