Not sure if this got answered but it is fluctuating between 10.5 and 11 pesos per dollar right now. (divide by 10 for rough estimate is the general rule when shopping in Mexico)
PONCHO fans, here in a small town called Texcoco a couple of 55/56 convertible projects sittin waitin some TLC.... are owned by friend o mine ,he's just a cab nut...guess he owns more than 10,basically projects among others....
sled, specifically any '55-61 cars. Especially any high-end converts, letter cars, Hemi cars, crossrams, etc. And double-especially any '57-58 DeSotos.
Wow. So much for getting anything done at work this afternoon. Thanks for sharing all the photos, Sled. You've found some amazing stuff! Chasing this tin around must be an absolute blast. Your thread was more entertaining than a Donkey Show.
GOTGAS,yeah..the same old good stuff i'm lookin for ....have always an eye on this high end stuff..i lke it very much myself... just know have a lead on a lot of 120 convertibles, owned by 1 guy ...he will sell 20/25 of those, all in good conds,.... af far i know (not much info yet) there is a Christine 57/58 convertible in very good conds....can't say more now,i'm workin on ... stay tuned.....

GOTGAS,any idea how much will be the value of a real 62 300 "H " Chrysler on the market today???is a 2D-HT model there is one locally mught be for sale...35.000 original miles but left there abandoned,....needs resto, but solid overall... 400 something produced, don't have the info with me here... but i have the VIN numbers and is a real letter car.....all is correct.. original interior ,bucket seats,413 engine and so on..... any help appreciate it....tanx ,sled PS.got pix in case....
for the muscle car fans,a rare Olds 442 1970 cab,in good overall conds.... i guess is a W-25,cause is lackin the special hood and some parts of the most wanted W-30.... but still a good monster car,and fully running.... has been repainted once, the same gold metallic color as the original one... BTW,can be for sale...NOT my lines...
Buick roadmaster cab projects...i know at list 15 cars like these around, fully projects...different years ,as you see.... really big things to restore.... also some Buick woodies in restorable conds,abandoned..if i find some pix will post em...
Depends on condition. $30-40K for a nice one. $7-8K for rough but complete. $15-20 for good condition.
benzine440, thanx for the infos....will post in case the pix i have of the 63 300 H.....just to show how it looks like .... so,you'll have a better idea after the pix.... thanx again, appreciate it!!
markX....mmmm,not keen to sell my 35/36 stuff right now.... in case if something else comes up i might think to sell, but these are my favorite lines.... well, can sell the 5w stuff...NOT the 3w.... still i know lots of them around, but it will come 1 day there will be none left....so,better keep something for my retirement....
62 or 63? There is a big difference in the value. 62s are worth more. The 63 and 64 styling is not considered as attractive so the value is lower. Very few 63s were built so they are more valuable than the 64s. Not bad cars at all if you don't mind the bulky styling.
benzine440,confirm year 62 ....is a 300 " H " letter series car... will post some pix shortly ,so you can see it...ok???
benzine440/gotgas...here some pix of the Chrysler 62 300 "H" i'mtalkin about bout....will add some more to get a bit better wiew.. sorry ,it was already night and does not give the correct idae,i suppose.. but the body is kinda solid still,.it starts to have surface rust due to rainy season and the coverin ... interior is all there,complete.. car shows 35.000 miles on the odometer....they must be true, has'nt driven much in all it's life... astradome dash is so cool.... has the 413 engine and auto tranny...don't have any pix on engine cause at that time owner put a lock in the hood, could'nt open it.... this acr has been bought NEW in US,at that time....but still very restorable.... more pix comin....
here the last ones i have...really poor quality, but the only ones... so,waitin for opinions here.... car was bought new from a previous mexican president wich in the time of recession (import was strictly forbidden) they could buy and register whatever they wanted....mexican style !!!
Sled, this is great! Keep these pics coming. 15 pages so far and no signs of slowing down! Can you post some more muscle car pics please?
Sled were are you at in Mexico City? I have relatives( Primos de mi esposa) in EL DF. I also have inlaws in Veracruz. I have talked with family from Veracruz alot of times about some of the cool old cars that are laying around there. I plan to get down there some day buy something and drive it back.
steve38,have much more pix collected ..will keep postin em.... try to put muscle stuff too....stay tuned
Sled,,this is one of the best threads in ALONG TIME! thaks for sharing al the pics of the MEXICAN JUNK,,, ..this thread has actually made me want to take up my Inlaws invite to spend time at the family's vacation home in Jalisco,,,thanks ... my curiousity has been stired though,.,,are you a Mexicano?? who has lived there their whole life??? or are you from a far away continent??not that it makes any difference,,,but just curious! thanks!
ok,here a Ford 56 sunliner in solid conds that i've bought months ago... actually i found a good number of 56 Sunliners around...this is fairly solid, put new brakes and water pump and drove it around for awhile i'm not a convertible fan,for kustom reasons prefer to have a roofline for the overall style... so,it has been sold to a Ford collector wich is restoring it....
..cuz the story is 100 times cooler if you are mexican,, ...,but if your just there to buy shit and resell it,,then it's still cool,,,but,,not that HOLLYWOOD ending us YANKS love,,,....
here's my friend's Humberto Corvair 65 Monza.... he's currently restorin this car...i like the lines, reminds me an italian sportscar.... BTW,this a totally rust free one....will be on the road soon....
