Michigan Title Law Change --- No More getting titles

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Window Licker, Jan 13, 2012.

  1. On the frame I got from Phat Rat, I went through the process of lost paperwork I laid out and had the frame numbers inspected. In that case the SOS asked what body style it was and I told them a Roadster. No way of knowing anyway what it was since Model As weren't tracked by body style. So my new title is proper to my build. This is possible with the 41 sedan, you would have to apply for lost title with an inspection and simply state it is a coupe on the application IF FORD DIDNT SPECIFY THE SERIAL NUMBER MATCHED TO A BODY STYLE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE AN INACTIVE REGISTRATION FOR 10+ YEARS. Then the body style could be changed on the title, no more confusion. Again, just my two cents and assess ones own risks. DO NOT ATTEMPT IF NOT FAMILAR WITH THE VEHICLES HISTORY OR VEHICLES DECODING. This is kind of a grey area.

topher5150 what is the description on your titles? All my titles just list the number of doors or that it's a pickup except my roadster which is registered as a roadster. Unless the title to your frame states it's a 4dr use that one
