the track hooked good! i ran 1- 12.67 and 3 -12.66,s all at 103 mph! going to dial that bitch!

  2. Looks like you had a full tire revolution of spin on one your passes, which would be in line with a 1.6x 60 foot time. You need to keep the nose up and the weight on the tires, but the car looked pretty rigid off the line.

One or two things to consider with the gear swap.First , if your at the limit of your tire bite now with the 4.10's a 4.86 cog can make it worse.Second ,lower gears can actually slow you down because your not staying in each gear long enough .Lastly ,sum motors like to work and actually do better with a little bit of load on it.The first and last scenerio i can testify to.When i got the Dodge it had 4.10's in it.It has best of 7.27 in the 1/8 and a 1.60 60' with the 4.10's ,and works pretty well in either 1/4 or 1/8 with them.Just for grins i bought another chunk last winter to try in the 1/8 with 4.86 gears in it (which is whats in it now).It has a best of 7.26 witha 1.54 60' in the 1/8 .The moral of the story is im gaining off the line to the 330 mark ,but giving it back in the lights .My mph reflects it with a best of 92.6 (going through the lights at 6200 rpm) in the 1/8 with the 4.86's ,but it would turn 94 (going through the lights at about 4800 rpm) nearly every pass with the 4.10's.I could tell on the first pass even before it was over with the 4.86 that the motor wasnt trying near as hard in the middle of the track.Your car maybe different ,but this is food for thought.BTW ,i am gunna have to switch the chunk back to the 4.10's for the DOTD after next weekend (cuz the 4.86 is worthless in my car for the 1/4),and im thinking of just leaving them in there from now on and selling the 4.86 chunk .Keep in mind that i have a 1.76 low gear compared to the low one you have which can make these effects worse .I suspect that torquey 383 stroker of yours likes to work my 408 does.See you Saturday :)...

Cool ,i like incar vids.Your tires are a bit taller than mine and you do have a bit more cam as well.I hope it works out for you .We are still on for a mix'em up next weekend if you want.I will position my camera so its pointing out the side window so you can see your T from a side view on a run .I'd really like a rematch with the white 428 powered 57 Pontiac that spanked my ass at the Thaw also ,hope he shows ...

Well here's my little attempt at an in car video. Check this fella out at the beginning...kinda funny...guess he was looking for his 15 minutes of fame lol. Keep watching 'til the end because there are a lot of cool cars in the pits. Enjoy!

P.S. No luck at embedding this, my apologies.

It looks like your going through 1st gear real quick(in the 60').Thats partly whats making your 60' seems slower than it is,the shift to 2nd.It also seems to snap your neck real nice on the drop of the clutch:D.It sounds good on the topend :)...

If it isnt faster than it was i have a chance. What hurt the worst is that i looked over at him and laughed in the staging lanes when they paired us up in elemintaions ,and actually felt sorry for him in that ocean liner.I was wiping egg off my face after he beat me ...

There is something else to consider that i know would pick up your ET .Although your shifting is pretty fair ,it would be faster if you would powershift it.Do you have an MSD box with a rpm limiter ? If you do have a limiter then theres nothing to worry about missing a gear . Made 3/4 of a seconds difference in my old 4spd. Falcon in the 1/4 powershifting vrs granny shifting. As lite as your T is i think it should be pretty easy on parts even powershifting .It also sounds in the vid like your dropping the clutch and then matting the throttle.I used to just slide my foot of the side of the clutch at 4500 and would have it floored before the clutch pedal came all the way up and would hold it there till i crossed the line.I believe that your T has a 11.20 -11.50 in it right now with the 4.10's this way :) ...

I'm leaving at about 5k and I'm just dropping the clutch. Listen closely to the last video of my car from the back and you'll hear it tack up pretty good between shifts. I'm hitting it pretty hard, but I might can squeeze a bit more out with practice. I admit that I'm sleeping at the line. Not a red light yet and that's probably a bad thing. I have cut a few.0ish reaction times but mostly .2-.4. I'll get it together.
p.S. I have msd box without rev limiter

That's good stuff man and I agree with you. I need to warm them up a bit more but they were sticking pretty darn good. I do not have line locks, but if I drop it in second I can burn them up! I was just trying to clean them off and got a bit sideways due to a lack of water on the track and had to let off. I'll take your advice on rolling into the lights. My next project is going to be cutting good lights!

Im not worth a crap at cutting good lights consistantly and i red light occasionally.I have cut sum .00 lights as well though.I like to shallow stage and leave when the last yellow begins to light up during eleminations...

I'm ate up with drag racing! I think I have definitely found my niche! I enjoy the honesty of it. It's not like a car show where somebody wins a trophy simply because he has more buds than you voting for him. I find too that I get along better with the drag racing crowd. Buncha crazy bastards that like to go fast and have fun doing it. I hear that it's not always that way at non-HAMB events, but that's ok because I probably won't be going to too many of those anyway. Ardmore doesn't count because it's in a class of it's own. Can't wait!

Hell yes! great vid! I too agree that a little more tire heat and courtesy staging to let the other guy prestage before you roll all in. THAT was a fun ride just sitting here watching!

Practice on the light and the shifts will only bring more smiles- Henry never expected her to haul the mail that fast when he built her...

can you post your best time slip with full figures?

My best run never happened meaning the last one where I missed 4th gear. I'll post that runs figures in parenthesis next to my best "completed run for comparison.
    reaction .3459 (.3835), 60ft 1.6920 (1.6177), 330ft 4.9661 (4.8298), 1/8 et 7.6729 (7.5072), 1/8 mph 92.18 (92.69), 1000 et 9.9974 (9.8866), 1000 mph 105.16 (96.69), 1/4 et 11.94 (11.99), 1/4 mph 115.09 (108.07)

So I figure that should have been at least a 11.70 something, but whadowino?!
