The hotel on 41st is Lexington Suites. I don't know the rates but maybe they'll cut us a deal. StrayKat, shirts would be SOOOOOOOO KOOL!!!!! I'll take a large. Be sure to bring press on SK500!!! I'm ready to start recruiting kustoms for next year. Rashy, isn't it funny that the shop is so centrally located, yet everyone of us live in all which directions from there? I'm going to get with Lil Toot to help me design the Mid-Am plaque. Okay, it's going to be Oct 10-12, Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Reverend'z near 41st and Memorial. So far our definite attendees are: Reverend Jake and Norma Rashy Monkey Prettyman (our very own HAMBchop victim...I mean volunteer) atch Roothawg StrayKatKustoms flt-blk Outlaw This is not official rollcall, I'm just getting an idea of how many to accommodate for. Reverend Jake
Don't forget... Mama Rash Lil Toot Papa Toot FTF Myers Kracka you know the locals. MONKEY, I should have that Avatar. So I could be spanking ya!
I can pitch in. I need the education. I learned a lot on my first chop (which involved a lot of watchin' and not much confidence in hackin') on Root's 'Fly...but that was pretty much vertical, just cut and drop. I'll just bring a cardboard box and a pillow. Maybe a plasma cutter if I can talk our mechanic out of it for the weekend. Or maybe I'll just "borrow" it and return it before he ever knows it was gone. It is easier to get forgiveness than permission... It ain't rape if the sheep puts its legs in your boots. I don't know about blow-up sheep though... Feel free to view this as the appropriate time to ask who the fuck is this guy?
[ QUOTE ] Feel free to view this as the appropriate time to ask who the fuck is this guy? [/ QUOTE ] Dude, you took the words right outta my fingers! Where the hell you from? I'm confused, the "white trash" makes me think maybe OKC, then the remark about Root, OKC again. Then you mention boots, so if you're wearing shoes, you can't be from OKC! Then the sheep, Montana? No red dirt though. Give up, end the suspense. RASHY Oh yeah, be nice to me cuz we may have to set a limit in this thing!
Just an aspiring builder/welder/pinstriper/painter, trying to gain enough skills so I can retire from the fire dept. at 20 yrs and not have to work a real job. I am just this side of Lurksville on the HAMB cuz I don't really have much to add. I just try and soak up what's here. Will a limit be imposed because of workspace, or sleep space? Or money?
Rashy, What the hell is that?! At first I thought it was a Pacer turnned around backwards. What is it powered by? Oh yea. let me know as soon as possible when the MAHC is going to be, would love to attend. George
That thing lives out by Stillwater. It is a PACER turned around backwards and cabbing a car hauler. Don't know what it is sporting for an engine but it is mid-engined. NEXT POST MAKES 100!!! Who's the lucky HAMBer? Rev, I lost your number, give me a call. Date is Oct 10-12.
I guess I'm 100... Rash, I remember that seeing that ugly ass thing!! I saw it at a Goodguys show down here a long time ago (ok, 7 years maybe?) before they had it at Texas Motor Speedway. PUKE!
Welcome to HAMBchop 101 (post that is). Today we'll be discussing topic and off topic nonsense, but before we do.....POP QUIZ!!!! If a rooster laid an egg on the roof which way would the egg fall? Rashy, you have got to be the worst with keeping my phone #. I'll call you before this weekend. The other hotel, lodging place is Cambridge Suites. As I looked closer there is a weekly or nitely rate. Maybe we can get a deal with three nites or just the two. Lil Toot is going to help me with redoing my sign before October. By the by he called me and told me he got to touch Junior Brown's GUIT-STEEL today!!!!! It was at a music shop for repairs. If I get a chance before this weekend, I'll check on room rates. Reverend Jake
I wanna go to a HAMB chop I wanna hang out with a bunch of greasy pricks who have inspired me to build things I never would have imagined without the HAMB I wanna.... aww, nevermind. :kicking rocks around... hands in pockets:
I welcome anyone who wants to attend. South Texas isn't that far. The more the merrier. Middle America has sooooooo much to offer the rodding movements, but hardly ever gets good coverage. Something like this will help us feel better about ourselves. We're good enough, we're smart enough, and dog gone it NOBODY likes us. Reverend Jake
Glad you brought this back up. The talks had died down with everyone having lives and all but they have started to resurface. I say we can do it. I have a feeling that all we may accomplish is wacking the lid of Prettyman's car but I bet we get drunk and have fun doing it. We need to start beating the hedges again and see what crawls out. RASHY
i'm in. i also have a 51 ford in need of chop but have no means. i have about 4 or 5 months before i go into the navy to do it. i am down for learnin in tulsa. let me know more details. atch you mind if i hitch a ride with ya?
Can I come along? I need to learn how to chop so I can apply it to my next project. I can cut things up. I can weld. I can sweep floors. I can take pictures. I will need a floor to crash on. r
MONGO's In if you all will have me. My skills include: Standing around and watching and drinking large quantities of beer. I also take a lot of pictures and take good instruction. Wanting to learn the ART OF THE CHOP! Also MONGO need 2XL Tee.. MONGO
My 60 Buick needs a radiator, so in order to come down for the HAMBchop I'd need a ride. Anyone coming down the I-44 corridor on their way down?
We'll be heading South from Independence, MO. Probably I-35 or that hiway that runs through Pittsburg... r
Dudes, I don't know. Haven't talked to Prettyman in forever. Last time I did he was more concerned about keeping his job than anything else. The ten of us in Tulsa who still have jobs are sceered!!! Everyone in our group is gonna look to me to figure it all out and I'm just not up to it right now. Plus, I will most likely be in Atlanta trying to keep my job. So, if any of these other critters were even still logging in to see that this post is back up, maybe we would get some info from them. I vote we find another candidate. RASHY
..............what? Another candidate? AHEM, ehhhhhhhh, do you guys ever chop the hard ones? I chopped my 33 pickup by myself but it was straight up and down...childs play. Uhh, my 36 chevy pickup really needs it's lid lowered but there's a catch. I wanna angle the a-pillars back instead of welding in a piece in the top. This is only a leetle pickup truck cab all the way in Omaha nebraska... Oh, and I was planning on cutting the back glass out to chop it only about 3 inches.so I don't have all that mass above it. The rest of the top needs 5 or 5.5" cut outa it... Does this sound like a fun project? And, sorry, I don't partake of the dreaded hop...I don't drink, so no beer from me but I can furnish all the food and soda....hullo? Just a thought.
Well, now what? I could get my 48 Frazer out and haul it to Large Butted Blank Sidewall's place up in Sedalia. Unless someone else wants to chop their car first.
You're just not a young rodder in need Rocky. But I'm game for a Nebraska trip.....can you round up some NE and Iowa folks to participate? How about those Kansas kats?...........Let's get something going before the bad weather hits... How about the same weekend as KCS&P? Chop the top on Fri. cruise down to KC Sat. Finish up on Sunday????? Are Ya' Sceered??????
