What is the date for that? I have 2 die grinders, 6.5 hp compressor, various nibblers, sabre saw, hack saws, wire feed, grinders, torch, etc etc....Damn little room in the garage but if the weather's good, I can push the wheeled cart it's sitting on outside into the driveway...mucho room. Your call. I can furnish sleeping room for about 5 guys with florage for some....and the S&P meet sounds good too!
I hope next month.....you guys looked cold in those pics last year..........We need to find out from Ryan. But I left myself some room for a vacation for KCS&P, so I'm covered.........Let's do it! I need to cruise my truck in Ralston for old times sake........
Oh, man.......you don't know how I've stressed over screwin up this chop.....I did a vw but it didn't turn out great. The only other one I did was the 33 pickup. I know 'zactly how I want the 36 to look but leaning the posts is something I've never done...same with cutting the top one height and cutting the back window a different height.... Plus, it'd mean a lot to me to have my top "HAMB chopped. I can get the door gaps even and tac 'em shut, brace the inside, strip out the interior panels [they're steel] and remove the windshield frame and back glass if I need to...just lemme know what's expected........I'll do all the grunt work and shit...
if you oklahoma guys are out i still have a fifty one ford. it is a two door sedan, pretty simple. i was talking to choprods at a car show this weekend about drawing some plans for 2" out of the front and 3" out of the back. hey ryan sedalia sounds good.
Rocky, I can get with you on the particulars. Let's get this going.....Call Ryan for a blessing. Zor...you should of spoke up...I thought you said your ride was inoperable, or you didn't have a way to get it to Tulsa. I'm down for next year if the Oklahoma gang get's something going......
i just put the new idler arm in tonight. i bought front wheel cyl.s last night that i am putting in tomorow. i am going to hold off on the rear brakes because scarliner was going to try to find an 8" out of a maverick w/ a better gear ratio for the highway. after that and a clean gas tank the car is totally streetable. my goal is the kcsp tour in late oct. will there be glass back in after a two day chop or will i have to drive it back w/o windshield.
without time to read five million replies, When and where will this take place.. I am interested... Thom
Kulturepimp....If my pickup cab is selected, it's in Omaha Nebraska...right in the center of the country. If you guys think it would be better to go with a chop for someone with less equiptment and no garage etc etc etc, I'll certainly undrestand. I can prolly handle mine....just a little unsure of myself with the added complications of leaning posts, half-chopping the back glass etc....discuss amongst yourselves...
if we're lookin' for a new candidate i believe zor would make an excellent victom. i was talking to him at the buzzard run this last weekend. here's a kid who's excited, wants to learn, is passionate about his shoebox, and doesn't know how to chop a top, but wants it done. you shoulda seen him looking at the cars. crawling around figuring out how "he" did this and how "he" did that (just like i used to do a lot and still do occasionally). he's exactly the person the hamb chop is aimed at. he lives in saint louis, so maybe fat ass whitewalls' shop would be a better location, but that's only a thought.
I saw a post on the "other" chop topic and I thought, "YEAH"!? Why does everything need to be an event? Maybe we just do it in our own areas. Whoever makes it, makes it. I would like to see Rocky AND Zor get chops. Rocky would prove to be entertaining all in his self. And Zor sure did earn it at the drags. OR, we could make it an event. Have multiple chops on the same weekend and keep posting the progress. Should send the bandwidth through the roof. We are probably gonna try Prettyman's in the spring. RASHY
Fat ASS Whitewalls, that offer of your shop still open? may i suggest that zor's shoebox gets chopped at whitewalls' place? date to be determined by zor, whitewalls, and other participants?
I'm game but I don't have any time to take off with a new job and all. If it's in OK I can definately help. If Radshit is coming I'll just be fetching tools anyhow....
I have to agree. Zor did seem like a deserving fella for a HAMB chop sanctioned event. You guys in MO will have to figure out logistics and a date. If Spring, I'll make it a point to be there. Rocky's chop doesn't have to be an oficial "HAMB chop" event. We can just all get together and tear up shit at Rocky's Pad. I'm game for that. Rocky, when we find out the weekend for Ryan's gig, let's plan to do your chop. Would make for a great weekend, and have some stories to tell later in KC. I'll leave some time in my vacation days for both events. Maybe Monkey needs a haircut????
I'm totally up for it, Neal...I'll prep the ol' girl for surgery... I need to get all my door gaps right etc etc... I'll leave the light on for ya.
i'm game if ya'all are. date is up to you guys. the last i could do it is late dec. i leave for the navy in jan. october seems real good but if that is too soon thats cool. just let me know and i'll have the headliner, window frames, etc. out and the car as ready as i can.
My shop might still be available, it's getting kinda full. Should be enough floor space for a weekend chop. Hotel rooms would have to be used, but there only four miles away. Nobody's going to sleep anyway. Showers could be arranged. Is the date still Oct? Dean
i'm in for an october 11th & 12th chop of zor's shoebox at fatasswhitewalls' place. any november weekend after the first one would work for me, too. who else is in?
i can do it any weekend in fall except thanksgiveing weekend. other than that let me know and i'll have things ready. if we do chop it will i be able to drive it back without glass? will i have to trailer it?
not a whole lot of help on the experence side of things but if i can make it down to omaha ill me more then willin to do what i can to chop rockys truck tim
if we do chop it will i be able to drive it back without glass? will i have to trailer it? [/ QUOTE ] The back glass will be laid down, so will stay in the car. We can make some windshield patterns out of plexiglass. Cut them to the correct size, and use them for your glass patterns. We can duct tape them in so you can drive home. Dean
bttt; anyone else in? choprods? ryan? kc crew? kansas crew? fraz? central mo crew? oklahoma guys? nw or sw missouri people? 10/11-12? some other date?
