My buddy Matt drives the crap out of his '59 Vette. The local Corvette purists cringe whenever they see him. He did finally "finish" the car by putting the hood back on it. This summer he wants to go to a Corvette show and park it in the spectator parking lot with "For Sale - $3,500 OBO" on the windshield just to stir the pot. The a**hole will probably put my phone number on the windshield.

Around here the most famous Corvette couple are known as Fluffy and Buffy. They dress alike with matching straw hats and hold hands all the time so Mrs. Squirrel will need a jacket too.

The only problem with doing something like that is he puts $3,500.00 on it I walk up and hand him the money. He says no, I have witnesses I gave him full price. I can sue him for breech of contract or something like that because. He offered to sell it for $3,500.00 and I accepted his offer but he would not take it from me. He’d probably loose the car to me for the money or make me whole buy buying lkq.

Joking around can get serious awful quick...I'm envisioning a breaking news story for all the wrong reasons...if there is such negative vibes at a show I'd look for a more welcoming event...

It's funny I've had the Ole Hotrod for almost 5 years now and really haven't had many references if any to destroying a classic at the numerous events I've been too...people are generally pretty complimentary and always whipping out the camera...that said I don't go to Original/Restoration Specific events for Model A's...

You must be a blast to have at a party. Until both the buyer and seller agree on terms and conditions there is no contract. A seller can reject an offer, even an offer for the full stated price, if he wants to.

The car came with two of them. I'm set.

Thansk for the suggestions. I also have the factory service manual, a (ha ha!) NCRS restoration guide, and a few other neat books he included with it.

That NCRS is a bad rabbit hole to go down.
Most of the ones I work on are that caliber of cars.

yeah, it's probably helpful to figure out how to put some things back together, but other than that I don't care if it's original.

My wife planned this trip a while ago, we're poking around in New Mexico with our old Airstream. I found a few old mopars to look at, too.
