Hello All, My Name is David, son of REJ. I will be starting a dragster of my own, after seeing my Dad and you guys have all the fun. Besides, now that he has built one from scratch, this one should be easier and better. I have been lurking around this forum for awhile now reading and looking. I'm goin to run a 225 slant with two 2's: We acquired this frame in a trade, it was used for a t-bucket. The rear end is my Dad's old one: The front end is a stock model A, which I have been busy cutting it out from a trailer that someone made. My Granddad had it and we traded him for another trailer that was just sitting here. I wanna drill it out, if i have the time: It's a start so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to MoKan this year to see you guys run or some of you. -David
Well I'll tell you what David.. You have a good start already. And old pops can help ya a bunch. Gooders on you...
Looking good David, the holes in the front axle look cool but the weight savings are just over a pound Rocky
Everyone knows that with all else equal.......cool always wins! Looks like you have a great start. Enjoy the build.
Well been busy making money and have only had a couple days working on the dragster. I took your advise and made a major reduction in weight and wind resistance. The weight loss was more than I expected. It was around 5 pounds... naw...j/k I did 17 1" holes. It weighed .5 lbs, but it sure does look a lot better.
bob, he is planning on running two Carter bbd's. This is the same set up I have on mine, but he opted to buy an adapter to run his and I made mine. I have already told him that if his performs better than mine, I'll have to buy one of those adapters also.
Hey David and Robert, Just wondered if you had any updates to share on this build? Looks like a great start. And to be able to race together...priceless. Good luck guys! Mike
Nothing as of yet. Busy workin and going to Plant City's Strawberry Festival. Hopefully, stuff will get done this week.
Well, she rolls!!! Got the front end mounted as well as the engine and ******. The rear is just tacked on to roll it around, we will be doing the rear next. Probably mounting it on top of the frame. Almost close to firing her up as well. Not quite sure what this exhaust is going to sound like...Need a little more time, but I'm headed up to Hilton Head for a little vacation for a week. Can't wait to finish her up, even though I got quite a bit more to go. I would just mount a seat and drive it like it is if I could... that's "in the spirit" right?
