Looking for someone with flathead experience in the midwest to go through my 37 60hp. I have found someone in North Carolina with a lot of 60hp experience 20230220_132452.jpg but would prefer closer. I'm 100 miles south of Chicago. Should be easy build all bolt on parts already rebuilt just need block gone through. Thanks Mike

Not real close but Russ at Schmidt Machine in Fairbury NE. has done several big flat heads for me successfully and recently I quizzed him about a 60 for a midget I'm considering and he said no problem.

Thanks Gary. Right now I'm just happy to find someone who has knowledge of them. Most people say rip it out put a bigger flathead in it. Just want a nice period correct hotrod.

Matt Werksman, son of Cotton, RIP. Matt runs Fox Valley Hot Rods in Barrington, IL and is well versed in flatheads having learned from his father.

I know it’s your car and have a plan but I think I would side with others and put a big flathead in. Even with it rebuilt with more horsepower it’s still going to be underpowered. What are your plans for the car?
I built a street legal single seater with a flathead dodge motor. Your little motor would be perfect for something like that.

Rusty the thread is about finding a midwest flathead builder. Not debating the 60hp. Thanks
