Great story and interesting rebuild! I definitely believe that it is important to document these old girls so that the history isn't lost!

last night I worked on the template for the firewall, still need to revise it a few more times, now the cage is in sure makes it easier.
I thought that I would have to make a relief for the dist. to have enough clearance, but thank God it fits without having to do that, I still want to keep this car as close as it was back in the day, and what the ran was a flat aluminum fire wall.

Just got this speedo in the mail yesterday, sight unseen off craigslist its very nice, looks to be a 1942 willys not sure they made many?

Also I have some amazing news pertaining to the restoration of this Willys, I will keep you posted in the next couple weeks.

I decided to order the firewall patch panels from Lee Kay were the fenders bolt to the body, so those are on the way as we speak.

Also the news Ive been waiting for since I acquired this old Gasser, the original steel front clip is coming home to be back on the car ( thanks Randy), restoring this car has definitely been an adventure to say the least, thanks to all the people who have been a part of this restoration!
Heres a couple pics! will post some more when the patch panels arrive.

Congratulations on getting the front clip back!
That is a huge step in putting that car back to "right" and like it was back in its racing days.
Looks like all your hard work is paying off!:)

That's cool that you got the original front end back, especially since you had no clue where it was and it found its way back to the car.

I'm very stoked to say the least, it still has the same blue paint on it.
As soon as it gets here I will take some pics with it on the car.:D

  22. I haven't read the whole thread yet to see if you have a specific reason, but it looks like you have the tunnel ram plenum on backwards.

  24. Sorry, you are correct, I checked it out on the computer (bigger screen than my phone), I can see the carb pads leaning forward. Please excuse my "optical confusion".

Awesome car. What are the headers you have on the engine and where did you get them from?

Chad, the headers were custom made from Sanderson, I'm very happy with them.
