  2. I use a 110. It is a piece of **** by brand but I have played with it , added a cooling fan . I am very particular on wire when using flux core. I use lincoln NR211 .030. I do not use .035 ever. Some of the wire is no good or should i say does not at least suit my style of welding maybe. If I cant get this wire I dont weld but wait till i can. I also use Lincoln wire with gas although I use mostly flux core most of the time. I just keep inching the feed back from the bumping setup till i get smooth operation. I have huge voltage variations here. I can tell by switching on my lathe if we are having a good day or bad voltage wise. I am last on the line rural and still have one of the old green transformers at the pole. They have fixed it s ground repaired burning wires . repaired a dropped out phase but wont replace it as it contains apparently PCVs and they want to avoid having to dispose of it. Everyone else as a nice new one , a pretty grey unit. When voltage is low i dont bother welding.
Anyway , Set it too fast then ease it back till it runs smooth is what i do.
