So I was putting in new shocks in the front this morning and I noticed that my tires were rubbing. Here are a few pics to show.

Is this a simple fix? Just get different tires? The tires are 215/75R15. If I go with a 205/70R15 would these diffuse the situation? And if so, can I still use the rims they are on? the last thing I wanna do is a new front suspension swap. Also, has anyone ever used the Ron Francis Retro Wire Harness? I was thinking about using it but cant make up my mind. Please help and thanks in advance for the advice!

Wheel spacers? Or, wheels with an offset center? Son had the same problem with his, he got a set of 1/2 spacers (I think he said Discount Tire) - problem solved. Don't know if it'll work for you but you might check on them. 'Course you'll have to check the wheel stud length to make sure you have enough threads for the lugnuts, and check the wheel well clearance too . .

Looks like to me that you have rims that are too small in diameter and the offset is wrong.. Are they 14 inch? Looks also like the offset brings the tire into the ball joint. I'm not a huge fan of wheel spacers so if this was mine I would go for different rims. Find someone that might let you 'try out' some wheel/tire combo for a test fit.

I also have a Ron Francis kit in my 53. It took more time to tear out the old than to install the new. I have used Ron Francis kits in all the cars that I have built because they simply work! they are expensive but I feel well worth it.

Try a 1/4 inch spacer. Otherwise, get a different offset rim.

I have a Ron Francis kit in my 48, been there over 20 years and never had a problem with it.

I have no clue what the offset for those wheels is. All I know is that I bought the car with them on there. And Jeff, I will probably still be recovering from surgery on Friday. So the swap meet may not work out. You goin to make it? If so, I'll quit bein a baby and go. Geno, the wheels are 15s. I've heard some bad stories about wheel spacers, so I'm not a huge fan either. And thanks for the advice on the Ron Francis kit. Thanks guys.

I have the same problem with my 55 Fairlane . It is due to the radial tire with the soft walls . I added more air in mine plus it steers easier too ! You can ad a 1/4" spacer to fix the problem .
