My '54 is in my avatar. I'm considering painting the wheels red under the Lancer caps I will be running. Wonder if it's gonna look right? Anyone have pictures of this style? Tried searching but I mainly brought up threads where people griped about red wheels as being played out.

No, they're not Lancers, but dammit, they look good! This is the look I was going for.

When in doubt always go red! I think that was probably the most common color under wheel covers back in the day.

This red looks good to me. Only problem is my car is blue, which might end up looking goofy.

    Blue and red.....good combo!

Your car's blue reminds me of the last version of MOONGLOW but I'm not sure if it had red wheels....

The version before it did though which is my favorite...

I think the red suits the light colour but not the dark blue

I wouldn't use red rims on a blue car, but that is just me.

Red wheel with full disc. Thinking of changing to burgundy to match the interior.

Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned that my car is not as blue as it appears in that photo. This picture is a better representation.

I had a friend (who p***ed away a couple of years ago) who had a stock, restored '39 Ford sedan, dark blue (Washington Blue) and it was restored to original except red wheels. He just liked red wheels. And it wasn't obvious like the black primer, red wheel, wide white scheme. It was subtle. And it looked good. I say try it out and see how you like it.

Red wheels were the norm....would look good with any blue light or dark.

Also there was a build thread recently on the HAMB of a blue '59 Chevy that had red wheels with stock wheel covers put on. I was a bit sceptical of the red wheels at first, but after the wheel covers were put on it was to die for:cool:

Go for it- it'll look fine w/ blue. Or you could 'grey off' a darkish blue.

I'm mainly concerned about the white top, blue body and red wheels. Wasn't sure, but I'm definitely going to give it a try. Worst case, I repaint them.

Thanks for all the replies fellas.
