What about the So-Cal Coupe? I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this one yet.

There was an extensive article featuring this car in The Rodder's Journal #24. The Pierson Brothers Coupe was also in the article, but it is the So-Cal Coupe that has the radical engine set-back.

I am surprised that I have not mentioned that car also. It's definitely noteworthy. I love a set back Hemi but a set back Ardun is a whole different ball game. Drool Drool Drool.....

Good!!! Now push that son of a bitch back until only 1/3 of the engine is exposed.:D:D If I ever have the pleasure of owning another Coupe or roadster I am going to minimize my leg room as much as I can. I also have a 331 HEMI waiting for just an instance. Keep us posted.

Pictures of my Austin. The engine is completely inside the car. You drive from the back seat. The first 2 are old pictures.

The last one is the rear seat area with the 2 seats.

Here's my nova, about a 2' setback. Something about the stacks cut into the windshield that gets my nipples hard.

This one's a little young for this board, but it's 10" of setback in my street racer...i call it "Alternative Reality", morphing into a gasser style later model car. It's getting a 6-71 and a straight axle, but this year it will stay more stock appearing from the outside so i can get more races. It's keeping the heater and defroster, but the dash and seats are also moved back. Hopefully it will all be enough so i can take all the lead out of the back bumper and still be able to still hook up on the street with less than a full tank of gas...

Cut the entire section out, then removed 9" from it's rear edge...

Re-installed the removed section. A little dolly work and the rear tunnel sections match up nicely. Filler sections were made from 18ga for the sides in front and for above the pinchweld to the base of the windshield. The entire pedal box is spaced back from it's original location 7", using threaded aluminum standoff posts and longer pushrods. The column gets laid down a little with a u-joint and extended, but it keeps it's collapsable section. The stock molded carpet still fits w/ minor alteration.

I set it back the maximum amount i could while still being able to slip the distributor past the base of the stock windshield, in my case 10".
