My son and I drive our roadster from Portland to Bonneville and back every summer, a little over 2,000 miles round trip including all the driving around the salt.

I'll see you all at the HAMB drags (hopefully)...with my TRAILER!!! lol. When I'm racing I want to know I can get home without counting on the kindness of others or a HUGE wrecker bill if I break. I'll drive it to any show, but when racing it will be towed. Not to mention how much money I'll save myself by not driving this guzzler to Missouri and back. $$$$$

  4. Man there are a lot of drivers here. Denise has a lot of miles but she has awesome stories to go with those miles I myself this year drove my roadster from ny to detroit 645 miles flew home and went back and drove it to the road rocket rumble in indy then drove home to ny 800 miles.
But thenagain I did drive my henry J from ny to the lonestar round up 1775 miles oneway 34 hours And there's cleveland and the hunnert left for this year
Oh yeah I drove alone to every show. Except for 20 miles or so when the skeliton in the back seat drove I'm still waiting on the pictures.
But its always so much fun to drive around this beautiful country. Why waste time trailering your ride.

    from Denver, Co

I've done a few long road trips in my 34 coupe, Colombus Oh.with a side trip to Delaware & the long way home. Denver to N.W. Montana, out to Seattle back to Spokane, other blasts to Ok City, Phoenix, Minneapolis & back thru N.Dakota, all of them a lot of fun but as the years go by I think I should get the Mullins trailer out so I can haul more stuff.

I've driven a chopped 55 ford truck from the bay area to Austin(1900 miles each way) for the roundup....twice...but since I sold it I don't have anything that I trust on a roadtrip (soon I will again)

I live 100 miles from anything, so there is always some driving involved. It is 120 miles to Winnipeg or Fargo, 320 to Minneapolis. Sure there are a ton of little towns around who all have there own little shows, but for the big events, I load the '51 up and rack up the miles. Back to the 50's is always a 1000 mile weekend, and if I want to see anything in Chicago or vicinity, it is closer to a 2000 mile round trip.

About 1000 miles round trip for most events for me, the only downside of living where I live (aka 5 hours for anywhere)

Although Denise (hotrodladycrusr) & Megan (ChevyGirlRox) have driven a ton of miles in Hot Rods, I think they would both agree that fellow HAMBer Dave (Butcher Boy) Schaub's "49in9" fundraiser drive in his '32 Roadster was quite an accomplishment!

The last trip to Louisville was 3500 miles in 2 weeks. We did 8500 miles in 3 1/2 weeks on the motorcycle,(Oregon to New Hampshire) but you don't want to hear about that.

I did 11000 in one month in 2000. I was moving from VA to WA and power tour was at the same time, so I ended up driving across the country 3 times. I had a hydraulic throwout bearing and ended up pulling my transmission about every other day for a month. I did 7000 for 2002 power tour. That trip I only replaced a few starter solenoids. I did 6000 for 2006 power tour. I had to rebuild the 3rd member in my 9" that time. My 56 belair was my dd until 1999, I put around 30k a year on it from 1994-1999. She started using oil at the 240K mark enough that it was time to let her rest until I restore her. That car never broke down; the only deviation from stock was conversion to an alternator so that was the only thing that periodically went out. I've been doing more motorcycle touring these days, but my 12 year old has been helping me a lot with this current project and my 15 year old got to use the fire extinguisher, so I see more long car trips in the future.
