Do mini bike drags interest you? I'm waiting on my insurance answer for our event @ Eagle Field (Fresno County) and was wondering how much interest Hot Rodders have in them. We built some 4-5 years ago and we have 5-6 bikes ready to line up IF we race em! Rocky LET"S RACE 'EM!
i would like to know more .we { strangers car club } got at least 4 bikes right now ,more to come soon.........thanks
I'm working on holding a Drag Race event in Fresno County (see link below). If I can make it happen I might add mini-bikes, just checking how much interest there is. Rocky
Our little group here in the Metro Detroit area have been racing them around on Scott's property for awhile now caling the events Mini-Bike Madness". We're going to do another one in Sept. We've kinda got a figure eight going on with a straight away, some major turns and lots of gr***y bumps. I would love to travel with it, and or my go-cart, to events but I don't have any way to get them there. I really need a boyfriend with a cl***ic truck that's not afraid to throw these in the bed and hit an event. Maybe I just need to build a truck next instead of "Rusty Olds". Anyway, I'd say go for it!
Anyone interested? I'm thinking 4 cl***es Stock w/clutch, stock w/convertor, Modified w/clutch and Modified w/convertor. All mini bikes are required to be factory recoil rope started. Briggs, Te***seh, Honda industrial and the like only. We will be racing 330', no "push off" with your legs allowed, must have helmet, long pants, heavy long sleeve jacket, shoes with toes covered and gloves. If enough under 5hp engined mini's show up they will have a cl*** of their own. Any suggestions? Check out the links below, Rocky
This video is too Cool! I'm little interested, ever since I got this old B/S engine I've wanted to build a mini bike with it. I also just love Eagle Field.
Here's mine Im trying to get ready for racing or to show if I dont finish it. 5hp briggs on alky - top speed 70mph with a very big gear
I found this on oldminibikes.com http://www.oldminibikes.com/forum/mini-bike-events/17612-save-date-s.html California guys need to check this event out! Race at Kings County Speedway at the Fairgrounds on 9/12/09. This is a solid reservation, afternoon racing will be held in between other races. But for MINIBIKES: gates open at 10am, minibikes will have a reserved area in the pits (the only reason to collect RSVP numbers is to make sure we have enough room). Minibikes will start racing as soon as you are settled into your pit area. Circle track and Drag racing will be held, your choice or both (grudge matches encouraged). All $$ will go to the track for insurance, ambulance, and track crew. The regular sprint cars will start racing after 2pm and we will alternate heats with their groups. Cost: $40 for drivers (you can bring as many bikes as you can carry). At this time, we don't have a cost for pit crew, last time it was $10 per person due to insurance. Track will have racing fuel on hand for sale...well, because it just smells better. We will be set up in the back, away from the sprint cars so everyone can test drive their bikes in the pits. This is an all day race and a chance to meet and greet others. Remember that we are expecting warm weather, advise bringing shade, chairs, tables. Due to the large number expected to attend, we apologize that we cannot afford to feed everyone. However, we are bringing the large BBQ and encourage everyone to participate in a potluck dinner! Bring ice chest, plenty of water, drinks; please no alcohol or gl*** allowed in the pit area. If you are interested in setting up a sales booth, please contact the track manager, John Dias at Kings Speedway (559-469-2514). This is not a profit event, there are no prizes, just the chance to race along side the big guys and show off your talents. The fairgrounds allow RV/camping and if you are interested in spending the night, contact the fairgrounds to make reservations. As always: racers provide your safety gear; DOT helmets (recommend full face), boots recommended, full body cover recommended (clay track rips off skin easily), gloves recommended (protect knuckles for the next race). NOTE: on August 29th, the track will be having a regular sprint car race night. We have been invited FREE OF CHARGE to promote our event. Arrive at 4:30pm to display out front and race during intermission to promote our sport! I would like a count, to provide enough parking. Remember you will be racing for free. This is a chance to try out the track at no cost; try out your tires, and your motors. Remember to bring your race gear. Allen 1967 reminds everyone: NO CRYBABIES Will be posting again on the event site soon as flyers are done. If you want a flyer, send Allen1967 a PM with your address (our phone: 559-924-4702)
Breeder and I both had minibike races at our shows. 125' is plenty. 300' they get too fast. I wouldn't go much more than 150' if I were you. Circle track mini bike races are a lot of fun to watch as well. They did those at the Lonestar Roundup. Drags get boring to watch after a while, you need to have them fast paced and last no longer than 45 minutes or you will loose spectators. Our insurance was ridiculous. $1029 for an hour long event. There is no cl***ification for the event and they put you in pit bike an enduro racing cl*** which is dangerous as hell.
