  6. Looks cool but that open flywheel looks like a dandy leg meat remover. I picked up a Yamaha 125 frame with a briggs 5hp on it this past weekend. Like yours the flywheel isn't covered. I won't let the kids ride it until we find a cover.

we used to "professionally" build them here is our webpage http://www.smithminichoppers.com but those chinese 50cc jobs basically put us out of bus.

but i do have a couple of cool bikes in my garage because of it

Man, I drooled over those ads in Popular Science and Popular Mechanix when I was a kid, but I had to settle for a clothes pin and the Ace of spades in the spokes of the old Western Flyer...

I did have whitewalls tho, and I painted the rims red :)

I have one with a frame damn close to this one in my ba*****t, like olmost identical and complete. Except for the handle bars that is..mine are a solid unit from the fork legs to the grips, all one pipe with bends on top for the handles.
My pop's brought it home for me when i was probably 5 years old...
    Mine has a Te***seh 3.5hp motor..
That was around '79..i was told it was a late 60's minibike but i have no idea..

One of these day's i'll dig it out and get it running again..:D

  17. I just about have this one re-done. Finishing the body work on the side car and preping for paint...

TONY - the bars on Squank were the same as yours before I cut 'em off and fab'd up the stem mount. Here's the 'Before' pic, plus a close-up of the Dan Barnett artwork on the seat... Hamilton did the lettering on the front.

G GRIFFIN - yes, "Aw hell... SQUANK!"

Just count the rings inside the bars when you cut them off... Squank is 172 years old and was apparently infested with Rust Mites in the summer of 1897.

Not technically a mini bike, I built a lot of bikes similar to this "back in the day". Check out the Schwinn springer front fork

The brain bucket was a gift from a lifer-uncle in the USAF. He said it was a jet-jockey's and it was Italian made with real leather and silk inside - I still have it.. That bike broke up under me on a dirt road which I got to meet fast.

    This one's @ 1967:

We had pretty similar bikes down here as kids, I think they were Tru Test down here powered by Briggs and avail as a sidecar too, my borthers mate had one..... very cool, my bro's kids have a little honda QA50 original one not a chinese knock off, its sweet, I had a flash back when riding it the first time back to being kids at my grandads place we used to hire and ride the same bikes at a track down the road I didn't even hae a mental pic but as soon as I was riding it it all made sense.
Worst thing is I know his boy has gotten a hard time about it not being cool.... Dumb **** kids and their TV wanna be choppers, looks even worse with a grown up on em, you want a bike buy a bike for christs sake !!!

Rick Kane gave my kid this one. We're still working on it, little by little.
