Out and about on Saturday afternoon and I stop at a small flea market at the Adrian Training School.Found a couple good deals there before so I decided to check it out. Not too many dealers and mostly junk until I stumble onto this mini bike frame.Has a sprung front fork and alloy wheel with some low rise ape hangers on it,some junk lights, and a skull suicide knob on the back! Long story short,I get it for twenty bucks.Get it home and start checking it out and find out it's a Rupp TT-500 of around 68 vintage.Good overall shape;no dings or bends in the frame or forks, the jackshaft looks good and the swingarm works.Needs a ton of parts to make it original.Friend of mine offered me some wheels and brakes off a Honda Trail 70 so I might use them. It's got some real nasty purple paint on it now(with PINK springs!)but a little paint stripper should take care of that.Just what I need;another project!Couldn't turn it down for the price though.Pics enclosed
Great score Ray. I think you should finish it. Never know, you might not be able to ride that micro crotch rocket you have some day. Those handle bars are just what I need for a mini-chopper I'm collecting parts for. Frank
Needs a big fat Golf cart wheel and tire for the back, and a cast iron tractor seat for comfort. When it's finsihed,I know a guy who can Stripe it for you.
Nice score Ray, Rupps seem to be one of the most collectable of the minis. If you rod it don't toss the original parts. Folks go nuts over it on the bay.
Hey Gordo, not to jack the post but... Have a chance to take pictures of that frame yet? Did you say it has the front trees? Did you say it is free? RASHY
1. Yep had a chance today, even had the camera with me as the "rat" post attests, just smooth**** forgot. 2. I think it has the bottom trees for sure, and the seat. 3. And yes it has your name on it, Free, free as the wind blows, free as the grass grows etc....
good score ray,,i bought this one 2 weekends ago,,i cant put it down for 2 minutes [hahaha] way to much fun...

[ QUOTE ] Safari- Nice score. You need to modify a radio flyer to pull your paint box and stuff behind it. [/ QUOTE ] You mean this ol' thing?
