How hard would it be to stretch the sheetmetal between the back end of the front fender and the firewall, then stretch the frame the required 6" to fit within the gasser classes?

I like it! Wheelbase is too short to be
an actual gasser, but 'back in day' the
86 inch wheelbase would have been
ok in the altered classes. Maybe build
it around that theme - as a circa
    mid-60's altered. Whatever you do
with it, it'll be a handful to drive and
    scary.....but FUN!!! :D

Screw the SBF or the SBC for that matter. Put in some real 60's muscle and have way more fun than any one person should be aloud to have.

I'm pretty sure Gassers had to run the original stock wheelbase

He's got THAT right. These short guys with high fronts...First 1/8th is just pullin' away, but by the traps I get the 'floatin' feelin'.

RRR-can't make the HAMB drags, damn job. R. Shifter, that is a great looking little beast. Load it up with whatever you want, or can get, and let 'er rip. Lovin' the hairpins.
Street and strip, or race only?

I am not a gasser person myself so I can not be of much help here. I do like the idea of the 327 though. Could go like the one in the picture I attached.

First time I saw a car pull a wheelie was in a Canada Day parade back in about 1966, the guy stopped right in front of where I was standing watching. He let the parade get a little bit ahead, then he floored it and dumped the clutch and the rear tires smoked and the front wheels came up a couple of feet. It was a purple Morris Minor on a shortened 56 olds frame with a rocket and a stick.

If you stretch wheel base it's not a Gasser it's an Altered. Gasser is stock suspension.

Sounds familiar, I was 15 years old when I saw a wheelie for the first time (on the street).
1969, older guy that would become a good friend a few years later had a car built a lot like this Morris. Street car, a Lloyd Alexander sedan (German), had a small block Chevy/4 speed, beam axle, big/little Ansens, nose up in the air, boy was that a short little car.
I'll never forget that experience, thanks Bob, RIP.

who said anything about stretching the wheelbase? :D

Morris minor stock suspension won't be able to take the weight of a v8.

ok so maybe a "Gasser/Altered" then...

I was referring to the look buddy.
