I am football fan of a certain team. I regularly have friends over who like other teams.
I don't require them to root for my team but they know that badmouthing will not get them invited back.
    My house, my rules. Simple.
I have some reproduction parts on my car '50, and also some Cragars with radials for for my '64 Impala wagon when I get the urge.
But this place is special and it belongs to Ryan.
If you don't like it, stay home.

  2. Glad you like this site as much as we do. This is so simple: Scroll to the top of the site's opening page and read the guidelines. If your car doesn't fit the guidelines for this forum, either start building a car that does fit, make changes to your car or don't post photos and text about your off-topic car. You're welcome to hang around but don't think you are going to change our site from what it is and has been for many years. We went through a lot of time and effort to make it what it is and we're gonna keep it this way.

After market stuff is easier to come by than original. It's hard to find an original piece that is in usable condition for most builds. The Anglias and Corvettes are major players in the hot rod world as is the sbc. Most builders will use the sbc in their Roadsters. If you want to show your "Willy", go to a willies forum. I'm sure that everyone there wants to prove that their "willy" is bigger than the other guy's....

I have a couple of buds who took their Willys and put sbc's in them with headers going every place. They look decent and have won awards at local car shows.

I am running a C4 trans behind my flathead. Is it traditional? Not to a lot of builders but I can't use a clutch any more due to injuries so I'll do as I please. They make adaptors for this so it has to be acceptable to someone in the rodding world. My wheels....I could have used Cragers or American Wheels which is what a lot of rodders use. I am using (ssshhh, whisper it) 1992 Ford Explorer wheels. It's not traditional but it looks like they are time correct and look chromed when they are aluminum that I picked from the scrap yard and brought them back from death with some elbow grease and sanding. I got them off of a Ford that was split in two with one broken wheel and the other three were very bad and now they look almost new. Well.....

My point is like the others are saying. You have to know what to say and make your car look the part

Don't harp on your thread being removed because it's not going to stop you from breathing. It's like putting lip stick on a fat girl. She's still fat except that her lip stick is smeared when she took that bite out of your burger and everyone else laughed about it but eventually got tired of seeing it.

Hang around. It's a good site.

If every sbc on this forum was pre-1965 I'd agree with you, but when somebody snags a Vortek from a late pickup truck or a crate motor from Jegs.....that's a horsepower of a different color.

I should have said that myself, Mike. You are absolutely correct.

    rule number 4.
    4. We cover traditional '65 and older American cars only. All other threads will be deleted. We don't cover rat rods, muscle cars, mustangs, or VWs.

We wouldn't be having this discussion if you spent your time reporting threads that you don't think belong here versus adding another one that for sure doesn't belong.

A Corvette isn't a muscle car, and if you see it on the HAMB its been turned into a Hot Rod or Custom. (In THEORY)
If you see a Topolino on the HAMB its because the BODY makes the perfect era correct Hot Rod/race car. Slingshots may get a pass because they are bad ass. Army halftracks??? May have slipped in on an offshoot of a thread, but I guarantee you there are no halftrack build threads.
Long time established contributors MAY get a pass now and then on something they post, but that privilege is earned. It is not given to the next guy that kicks the door in and says look at all my stuff, it deserves to be here.

This post has run it's course.

Bruce R. - going forward if you have questions on what is and what isn't HAMB ERA Traditional Hot Rods or Custom Car material - before posting - feel free to private message me.

    Thank you,
