I got into cars in the fifties. Started "mech- a -neckin" in the sixties. Built my first hot rod about 1967, a 57 chevy. Have since lost track of all the rods I have bought or put together. For the last fifteen years I swear the next one is going to be the last one. Ha ha, what a joke! I started street racing in the early sixties, went into drag racing at Kil Kare drag strip in Ohio, got bored and started round track racing in about 1969 or 1970 . Got bored with that and started figure eight racing at the Indianapolis speedrome in about 1975 race there till about 1981. I raced in four of their three hour figure eight endurance race of champions, matter of fact I was in the very first one they ever run. 1982 I Moved the family to Missouri and opened my own service and repair business. Just retired recently and got back into hot rods and rat rods again. I ran chevy`s when I was racing, but now have been bitten by the chrysler bug. I`m currently working on a 69 superbee for a daily street driver and building a 30 chevy sedan with a 291 ci Desoto hemi motor and tranny and 9 inch ford rear. I swear I am not going to build any more after I finish these two. I`m looking foreward to being part of your fine community. I have spent the better part of three hours today browsing around your site, and like what I see. I also noticed you had a celb. Jesse James on here, wtg, I watch his program every time it`s on. Thanks all for the welcome.---------I`m located just out side of a little town named Newburg: which is located half way between Rolla, Mo., and Ft Leonardwood, Mo., and all of that is located aprox. 125 miles west of St Louis, mo. on rt 44. or 85 miles east of Springfield,mo., on rt 44.
