1952-59 Ford Missysdad1's '54 Monterey Mild Custom Build-Up

Would you happen to know, of the top of your head, are the '54 Mercs and Fords close enough in the frontal area that one could mount a Merc bumper/grille on a Ford with no modifications? I've been thinking of doing this for a while.

 

Thanks, guys. I haven't really made much progress on the car, or spent any real money on it. I've simply spent some time getting it ready for future work and correcting some of the more obvious flaws.

I'm a believer in the idea that "stance is everything" when it comes to a custom car, so my first efforts have been to get it in what I consider the "correct" relationship to the ground. I also believe that the wheel/tire combo is a major part of the overall custom effect and should be treated as such, and not be simply an afterthought.

Once the tank is back from being boiled out, I'll get serious about the next major step: making it run as it should.

ECHO: The fenders don't interchange, so I doubt if the grille/bumper swap would be a bolt-on...but I think you could install a complete Mercury front end with little trouble. I thought long and hard about doing that with my Vicky, but gave up on the idea when the Merc came along.
