heres a few pics of my '53. Ive been doing alot of "behind the scenes" mechanical, engine and tranny work and swaps. Other 4 doors Ive owned.

I dont have a family, I dont haul around a bunch a pals, and I dont need a reason!!

I LOVE 4 doors just because theyre considered oddballs or uncool. Ive owned a lot of 4 doors. I think it goes way back to childhood and how I was treated by other popular kids. I hate following popular directions. I like being an oddball and Im proud to be original and doing what I like, rather than whats approved as cool.

I enjoy ALL cars, trucks, vans and wagons. That being said, youll NEVER see me driving a 2 door tri-five chevy even if I could afford it.

This is my ride parked in front of Hunter Thompson's old San Francisco apartment from the 60's.

I do think most classic American cars look best as their coup model but my first one is a fordor. Just love the big fat C-pillar, square roofline and suicide doors. The moment is saw one parked at night I knew that's the one I was going to get. Took me six years!

  13. I traded my '34 3-window Chevy project and a '56 BSA chopper for this More complete '29 Chevy sedan to accomodate my growing family!

Given the choice (which I was) I made a point of going for a 4 door as I've got kids and I fancied doing a bit of wedding work with it and didn't want to be shoehorning a bride in 'n' out the back of a coupe. Well designed cars work just as well in 2 or 4 door configuration.
I'm in the UK and aside from having nowhere near the choice that you guys have over 2 door / 4 door models... old US cars stick out like sore thumbs over here and are cool reagrdless of how many doors... period

Never did & never will get the more door thing, in 18 pages I could count on one hand the one's that are cool, and half of those would still look better with 2 less doors............

Even if I felt the same way...... I wouldn't come on some thread about them and bash them.... Go to some 2 door thread and tell them how much you like 2 doors. I don't think anyone is claiming their 4 door is a hot rod. I am really sure that most of them don't want a red 57 chevy!!!!

WOW!!!This is IT!!!What a perfect pic of a beautiful car! I really like the stance of it, and the slight patina of the (original?) Suntan Copper paint contrasted by the shine of all the beautiful brightwork. Looks very much like an unmolested "survivor" -kinda car(?) Prettiest car of the whole thread, IMO.

If you hate 4 doors so much, why did you read 18 pages of it? Take your two cents and go find a thread about stock '57 chevys. Dude you own a Saturn and a PT Cruiser:eek:.....enough said!

-Well put, that´s the way I look at it. Money/collectability -issues aside, what it really comes down to is that every ol´ car You see DRIVEN out on the road sure makes a difference from seeing another dang minivan or a KIA, which, BTW, You wouldn´t even recall "seeing" 30 sec´s later anyway.

The thing with 4drs is, Yeah I guess You may not pay so much attention to one if it´s sitting next to a similar-make-and-model convertible or a 2dr HT at a show-setting, but every time You see one out on the road, it kind of blows You away, as it makes You appreciate how, as a remnant of a bygone world, it survived the last 50+ yrs, everything it must have seen and experienced and what it might have taken for it to be driving out there to this day. Least that´s what I think of.

Your 2 cents aint worth a penny...2 doors are cool, but I aint gonna post how much I prefer a 4 door in a 2 door thread. I like to cruise my grocery getter...so kick rocks!

Just went thru the whole thread and love them 4-doors. I am currently lookin for a decent 4-door Chevy to daily drive.

I do have 1 question tho and this is probably the spot to ask as this would be the 4-door lovers thread. Whats with shaving just the rear handles? I dont get it, you trying to fake people out? Not trying to be an ass here, just curious of the reasoning.
