Here's the mordor I'm working on. 1940 Studebaker Commander. S-10 front sub frame with a '65 "McKinnon" motor. Plans include the seats from a 90's Bonneville SSEi (my old bones need a little comfort when I drive more then to the corner store), and probably just some satin black on the outside (my favorite color)

We drove this car 15,000 miles in the last year. I looked for a 4-door because I needed to build a daily driver for my wife and our three kids.
Knock it all you want, I don't care. This is a more appropriate car for me and mine than a Tahoe or Explorer would have been. We're just not that kinda people.

More doors are for nerds and grandma cars and wannabes. If you punks could step back in time (which most of you have'nt a clue) you would not see ANY self respecting hotrodder in a 4-door.

I don't know how to break this to you, Piggy, but we are not "back in time." Besides, as Converseandbowlingshirts rightly pointed out, some of us actually want a four-door vehicle for our families. Furthermore, it wasn't just grandmothers who drove those cars, it was doctors and lawyers too. It was the "punks" (and poor people) who bought the two doors.

Am I right in guessing that you had to drive your parents' sedans back in the old days and are pissed now that they're cool and you missed out? Otherwise, I can't see why you'd post in a thread that bugged you so much just to piss on it.

  27. I don't think he's a prick, that's how I remember it only twenty years ago, 4 doors were what people inherited from their grandmas. Now there are tons of them available; two doors are getting pretty scarce. Not to say some moredoors aren't cool, just wasn't done much back in the day.

oh yeah, i know the young kids were gettin 2 door back in the day, but for a 21 year old gear head like myself, i dont have the bucks for a 2 door, and besides i LIKE 4 doors. Now if that shmuck woulda worded it like u did, it would be cool..... but u dont just go around tellin people that there cars are for grandmas and nerd. where im from, thats a good way to get ur teeth knocked the fuck out.
