Ohkay....I am getting a little cheesy....but what the hell??

This about as close to what I see as being the final design.....I rough sketched this out at work in the Fab while daydreaming....hehe

The name has just about grown on me enough to say yea.....

I've been wanting to build this C-cab project for a few years now....this seems to be more of a real deal then anything else I could come up with.......I would still like to make it twin Buick powered.....but who knows what the future may hold......

maybe the Hot Rod Gods will drop two....not one, but two Hilborn injection units for a nailhead in my lap.........stranger things have happened....

The garage and back driveway are finally clean and now I can work......We pulled the '35 Plymouth double drop tube axle off my friend's boat trailer and now I'm prepping it with hairpin brackets and polishing...in preparation for chroming...

here is the final design......more pics to come....

  5. I dig C cabs too. Your drawing looks good. But that little "T" has character, It would be hard for me to change it around. I'd have to paint and polish it, and make it a driver. But I know whatever you decide to do it'll be nice. Dean [IMG]

Character it does have.......but these American Racing Magnesium 15x10's will help a little....roller slicks compliments of Greezy...thanks Greezy!

Boy!..... you have to keep up on these babies.......they tarnish quickly when "outdoors"... [IMG]

Here is the Plymouth dropped tube axle....somebody welded the tie-rod to the axle to keep the spindles true for trailer usage. I'll cut those off with a torch and clean up the axle for chroming....

Fellow HAMB'er Joe Mama made these hairpin brackets for me, but now he is making another set, but about 1 1/4" lower for the Plymouth axle. That and a 2" lower front spring perch should keep the T down at a respectable altitude..... [IMG]

Thanks Brewsir.......This is the an extra spindle from a set I've been saving....hope to make these work with a set of 16" Harley spoke wheels that will be on the front of Mob-Scene.

No brakes in front, but I have a pair of rear Lincoln Discs with the big discs for the Ford nine inch.....if that should prove to be inadequate, then we'll see about a set of front discs from Total Performance......but I like the look of wire wheels without anything in the middle....

Yea Sam, I had originally thought of using a cowl I had picked up, but this Bucket body came along ,and it had all the right lines on it I knew I would need for a start.....

Plus, it has an operational door on the passenger side that will come handy on entry and exit.....

I have plans for the cab to have details and beads rolled onlong the backside to give it that Henry Ford original look to it....

Man that's gonna look good! Kind of like a cross between a C cab and Steve Scott's Uncertain T with a bit of Pete Phelp's Rapid Transit for good measure.

Very nice Joe. Those American 12 spokes are perfect.

It wasn't a C Cab,but it sounded cool at the time.
Did Terry Cook ever finish his Fiberglas Model T Milk Truck project ?
This would have been early 70's,when he was at Hot Rod Magazine.

Rad - I think I still have a pair of wire spokes with rubber on 'em. I do believe they are for an Anglia type spindle.
If you need 'em I can get you some pics.
I really do dig your plan!

  23. Neal, that thing looks cool.I've always liked C-cabs.Are you gonna have it done for the HAMB drags or are you bringing the truck again? I'm still hoping we can run one off again.Keep us posted....inquiring minds want to know!!!

CAS...let me know what you need for them spokes...I'll take em.........I have access to some Anglia spindles.....I can make those wheels work.

Scallop53....I will have this T with me at the drags...along with the HAG and my buddie's FED...
The F-1 has been traded for another car I just had to have...

  25. I'm building up a 31 model A,but not in time for the drags.I just picked up a 500ci. caddy motor and a 400turbo trans.I already have the posi rear and a new set of chrome reverse wheels, but i'm lacking a little in the frame dept. yet. Also picked up a '29 chevy grille shell and 2 original 34 ford grille shells, not sure which one to use. Decisions, decisions.
