Lets do a mocked up thread(i did a search, so don't scream at me)...all the best hot rods started somewhere. The stance, and the soul of a car start early. Even if your car has been done forever, or you just got your rails and cokers, lets see em before you could drive em. PAUL THE EDITORS ROADSTERS ARE KINDA THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS THREAD.
love the mock up stage....its like building full size model cars. they don't have to run , but they look cool sitting there. only have a couple mock up shots from builds past....can't find the one i shot of my buddys morris , sitting in the corner with the 16x10's and skinny hals and a bare shell..
I mocked up my RPU in my head. I am presently building and adding pieces and components as I go along. As expected the build is changing and evolving as I make progress. I took a bunch of basic measurements of the body, my donor drivetrain and started from the picture or concept-idea in my head. My build thread is here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=460009&highlight=26&showall=1
vtwin, that thing is so insane I love it! I just hope you put it on Youtube when you fire that sucker up.
It isn't mine, but it was a customer's for the shop I was at. I know some of it isnt traditional, but Bob Johnson's truck is bitchin, and Nick Kelenberger gets credit for the vast majority of the sheetmetal work. Hope you like it.
Some people are probably getting sick of seeing them... but I love how it's turning out. Almost finished mock-up but I haven't gotten an overall shot.
1926 Ford Model T Started as a freebie from Tcoupekyle. Levi (Konacruisers) and Kyle helped weld in cowl and bun panel patches. I got some door skins from howell's and made door structures from 1" tubing, same with the deck lid. I'll be making a deck lid skin in a couple weeks at the Metal Meet in Grandbury TX.
This is cool, i'm already seeing mockups of a few hamber cars that i love. Dont let the intro fool ya, if it's hamb friendly i want to see it(hot rods,"gassers",customs).
Here's a VERY basic mock of my coupe. I can't wait to get back into this project. I've got so many ideas.
Mock up is essential but can be a persons downfall. I know of two folks that were/are kings of mockup, but that is all theyy had. Fake cars that looked good when you got the 5 cent tour, that guy died without ever finishing most of the cars, one is now on the HAMB and has been featured in R&C, running-driving.
