A buddy cleaned out his shed and gave me a mod. A front axle, and compleat wishbone. The perch bosses mesure 2 1/4 in. Looks like from perch bolt to tie rod end after threaded bungs installed would be around 36 in. Is the Mod, A wishbone worth splitting?

I like them better than the 32 bones. I have them on my 32.If you use a dropped axle you will have tie rod clearace problems just like with a 32 wishbone. You don't have to weld in bungs if they are left stock length. Just cut them off where they change shape, taper them a little and drill and tap. Plenty of meat.

Thanks Andy, looks like it would work.My A frame is 3 in. longer than stock, so doing it that way would put the joint just about at the firewall which is cool. I thought I rembered a post on this where the the topic of the hardness of the forged end was a problem for drilling and tapping.

They drill and tap just fine. Kind of taper them so they are symetrical and flatten off the end. Center punch and drill away.Good luck! [IMG]
