I really dig how you have the motor tucked back into the firewall, with the airscoop-pipes stickin' up. Adds a cool touch.

  6. It's a 29, the gas tank goes under the cowl area.

The cowl is not 29,,,,,,,,the body is a 30/31,,,,and the gas tank is the top of the cowl on model A's.

Back to the car,,,,,is the top going to be a lift off,,,,the work looks great!HRP

  9. That cowl and door look like this Murray body 29. Not a regular cabriolet. The quarters must be from a coupe or something else.

Interesting, I didn't know there was a Briggs bodied Cabriolet. I am using a heavily modified 4 door cowl on my modified and it is funny how many people who are seemingly familiar with Model As and don't know what those are. Now I learned something.

Recent question and answer from another forum*******************I have a cowl in my shop that is shaped like a 30-31 but has a 28-29 gas tank inside of it. It has a standard looking dash but no screws face the interrior. There is also a piece of wood behind the dash. It looks like it may be a delivery vehicle or something like that. Can anyone shed some light on this?

1929 Fordors, Town Sedans, Cabriolets & Town Cars have a cowl that blends from the hood to the front doors. The gas tank is inserted from below and there is a spacer in the firewall to accomodate doing that. The spacer must be removed before removing the tank.*********I am positive some trucks used this cowl, too.

That's bad***! More pics please. Especially how you plan to attach. What did you use for a donor? Did you put the reveals in yourself and how did you do it? Inquiring minds want to know these things or is it topsecret stuff?

    Thanks,
Well it is a real cabriolet baody. i used a 1937 chevy truck, a 1951 chevy car and a 1929 fordor to make the roof. The reason the motor is so far back is i am gonna run it in the street roadster cl*** at boniville and thats where they told me to put it. Heres a pic of the beginnings of the top.

Wow...what a great build...like your website as well...I've seen that 1928 ford lakes roadster you had listed before on another site? I like the green coupe with the slotted axle....very cool.

I just have to add, your build up pics from your site are great, really impressive with what you started with. I like the simplicity of the rear axle setup, mine 's been keeping me awake for nights, wanting to keep it simple, so now I know. What rear spring did you use? Also, is that a flat front crossmember?

Yep it is a 29 cabriolet, I have one just like it....
The one I got from ***us.

They share the same cowl as the fordor...
The tank does mount up under the cowl.

The body line is similar to a 30/31, but it is completly different.....

That is a rare *** body!

They are really unique, I'm turning mine into a coupe as well., only mine will be a little diferent....
