Well I traded my original Model A chassis with a Caddy motor and trans for this 32 Ford chassis this weekend and had to do a quick mock up to see where I am at .........................I think it will be ok...........I have a 283 sitting on the engine stand just beggin me to go in this being it is already set up for a SBC.
Nice upgrade. Maybe you won't need the recessed firewall now? More room the better in those little cabs right?
Yeah, I am going to cut it back out again and mount it with a slight lip around it. Just so it looks similar to what a 32 cab would have.
I wish it was that easy. I removed the edge of the firewall and set it back in the cab. So I will have to take it back out and add to the perimeter of the firewall. This was not just a flipped firewall. But I will get it done by this weekend coming up. Oh yeah that Coupe of yours is Sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks NICE, Man! I'm growin' to like wide-fives quite a lot these days. I can't wait to see more. Nick.
Well I was able to get in the garage long enough to move things around and why I was doing that I thought it would be a good time to roll the truck out and take a few quick pics . Anyway two of my boys wanted in on the action and this is how it looks so far and I tought I would show a pic of the 283 that will be going in this one.
As far as balancing these wheels I am wondering how did they balance the VW wheels that were wide five? I am thinking a bubble balance method.
How are you going to adapt the 283 SBC to the 39 Ford toploader*******? Find an old adapter on egay, I suppose? I'm not aware that these adapters are being made today.
Good point, does anyone make them now? How much are they worth? Theres one in the parts for sale section now, i got my eye on it
I have two adapters one is an Offy and the other is a Cragar. and the you just get a pilot bushing from a place like speedwaymotors and the correct Fly wheel, clutch and pressure plate and a starter that bolts in to the adapter. This stuff is still avaliable as far as I know.
