Ford did a prototype 3 window in 31. Used lengthened doors from a vicky. A picture of it is in a book called Henry's Lady. If I can find a picture I'll post it.

looks like it will be cool, except for the grill shell, maybe drill some holes on the sides or something, too bulky in my opinion, but I never get anything done,so your way ahead of me...

  7. Thank you guys for your comments and inputs, much appreciated. I'll forward them to my buddy. And I'll keep you posted with any updates from his garage.

  8. I just told Raphael about the thread and the comments and he got a real kick out of it. He's glad you dig the stuff his building and he appreciates your input a lot, as it is his first hot rod build.

Yes the center plate is fixed, as well as the inner plate, the one next to the frame.
He didn't use rubber but a special highly resistent material called volcano fibre.

The shocks aren't for sale at the moment, but if they happen to do their job well, Raphael might think about producing some sets.

  16. This guy is living the dream life. I love what he has done with it so far. I think the grill is boss regardless of what the others have said. I think it is a really nice car overall. Tell you're friend good luck with the rest of the build.

Very nice and first rate craftsmanship. That looks to be a well planned car that has all the proportions right. I'm sure that when he has it finished there will be many who will spout off an say that he cut up a rare original three window coupe to make his rod.

I'd also say that there will be a few of us old farts borrowing an idea or two from his build, especially the shocks. Those appear to be well designed and right on the money as far as looks go.

  22. It's about time for an update! A couple of days ago, my buddy Raphael told me he was just about to finish the copper fuel tank he was building from scratch. So I took my camera and visited him at his workshop.

When I arrived he'd just started polishing the tank

  25. switzerland ≠ sweden, but thanks anyway for the kind words :) I'll forward it to the builder.

  26. Yeah sorry about that, little further south starts with "S" not dark ALL winter. Still a very talented builder the grill shell needs to come down just slightly, but who am I to talk you buddy has more talent than I could wish for.
