I'm going to buy some 42/48 square back Ford spindles so I can put disc brakes on them a la Super Bell Super Stopper Brake Kit 3/8" Rotors 5 x 5.5 and a pair of 40 wheels.

I'll use a hairpin steering arm. I plan to get a B3311 to put on the driver spindle arm.

    Good plan? Better suggestion?

You can get a litttle adapter that goes tapered end to model a style. i used a 42-46 tie rod as well i think.
