How strong is a Model A rear axle? Can it stand up to a slightly warmed over 100 horse flathead V8? Did Model A's have a common axle ratio? If so, anyone know what it was?

    Thanks.

If you plan on beating on it AT ALL, it will probably let you down.

I'm not quite in agreement here...

Pop's got a warmed-over banger in his '29; he's been beating on it for years with no ill effects. 100HP on an A rear end is very doable; the old old school rodders did that (and more) without probs.

A V8 banjo would be better - for sure - but the safety factor Charlie Sorenson built in will handle 100 HP without incident.

final drive ratio (off the top of my head) was 4.10.
