I have a set of Charlie's cast iron headers. I like them a lot and plan to use them on my build. Problem is his single carb manifold will not work with these. The intake needs to have a upsweep in the pipe as it comes out of the head to clear the iron headers. His twin carb intake works with this setup. I really don't want to put a dummy carb or block off plate on a twin carb intake. I guess I may be out of luck using these headers. Who makes a good set of tube headers? Here is the link to Charlie's headers. http://www.secretsofspeed.com/header-images
I do have his ROOF 101 Cyclone Four Port OHV head and plan to use these headers with this setup, but this is later down the road. Here is a pic of his headers with his 2 carb intake.
Would something like an inverted and flipped stock intake work? http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/single-downdraft-intake-manifold
It's basically a stock intake, so, yeah. All the other singles seem to come straight out. I've been looking around too because I have a running B setup out of a 34 pickup (with the 90° header) and I'm weighing my options for bolt on upgrades. I wouldn't spend a lot on a single intake if you're just going to drop that OHV setup on there anyway. You'll probably want more air after that. You can always sell the single when you're done with it.
I am going to try a stock intake flipped upside down and see if it has clearance. If it does I will order one of these. It is aluminum.
I am almost thinking of snagging a set of their 4 into 1 cast iron headers. Not too pricey, wonder who is making these for them?
Running a single 97 with a set of reds headers. Most of the guys I have talked to running multiple carbs are not claiming to have to much success with it.Looks pretty cool but most claim a single 81,97,or 94 makes the car run the best.Trying to keep mine as simple as possible.
