...and proof that A Model A body on a Deuce frame with ‘32 fenders was a “thing” in the ‘50’s.

I will let Riff carry the Torch.

Anything I was suggesting if it was suggestions at all were period and unboltable and fully returnable to what he has now...and for the record No Disc Brakes, Widened Fenders, Pinching, Radial Tires...I have posted enough material for research...

    GO Riff GO...;)

By the way it's your Hotrod...heres mine...I like to say 1962ish...;)

    0_Coupe_Belfountain.jpg

Have fun and yes your Hotrod had a journey and yes the changes are period actually over at least 15-20 years...keep us up to speed Riff...;)

We are as excited as you are...

Not to be a smart-ass...but me thinks it has 1-2" out of it...What's @big duece's take on it...and its packing a 409 for motive power too...or is it a 348?...

The angle I believe is user set...I'm still waiting for some A Roadster Hambers to set me straight......:D

Your's and the Kerr Roadster are stock height...angle whatever you want

I think Stogy has an eagle eye. I too think the windshield is chopped on the A roadster in the RJ posters after studying the OP's first pictures of windshield before tear down.

To set the record straight, the suggestions I was referring to were the ones that Riff mentioned in his post saying that some were suggesting a dropped headlight bar, although that wouldn't be the only one.

Riff has a time capsule. While I would like to see him restore it to his Late Fathers driven look I would like him to know that if he was to change it at all there are period options that he could consider and that is something he is asking so I will give him an opinion. Not forcing just spreading the gospel.

I look forward to his meeting with Rexrods.

I'd think that Riff would be right on with any "period correct" changes that he thinks his father might have done or would have liked to have done. We all might change some things if it were our car but it's not. Have fun Riff your going in the right direction for sure.

I have an axle that was done the same way back in the day. Been on the road many years. It is nothing that I would be concerned with. I have a picture if I can find it.

If it were mine ( I know, I know...), I would take cactus’ suggestions with one single exception . That would be to lower the headlights. The rest is perfect.

If the old axle is used I would hope it is thoroughly inspected for cracks around the welds regardless of it making it this far.

Thank You...Riff...not to pile up your thread with other stuff but this is a loose theme on your Hotrod and the Hamb and, and...;)

It is an inspired Hotrod built in 2010...aviation inspired, not overdone...and quite frankly I've followed @cactus1's no changes philosophy with it...why? For the simple fact what you see is why I liked it in the first place. Theres work to do but it's unseen stuff here and there. Here's the thread below but the red x's have really affected this thread although I added as many pics as I could find near the end. Jerry does very thorough threads and builds really awesome vintage Hotrods...;)

    Short list of details...

29 Ford Sport Coupe, 327 Chev V8, 57 Chev Rear End, 6x2 Edelbrock X1 Manifold,
with Holley 94's, drum brakes all around, transverse springs front and rear. It's noisy and fun...that's about it in a nutshell...oh and it's chopped about 3" has 50 Pontiac tailights and 29 Cadillac headlights up front. Oh and Bias Ply reproduction Firestone Piecrust www from Coker Tire

Everyone talks about “coolness factor”-that car has it...

  19. Just went through this entire thread at one sitting. Don't know why I missed it!
What a treasure that car is! It looks to be a relatively easy restoration.

Save that frame! Some crossmember upgrades may be in order. Many done on here.
Save that drivetrain! Hopefully all in rebuildable condition.
Save that body! Easy enough to restore. The dash alone is a treasure.
Save those fenders! It looks so good, I'm weighing doing my roadster over and adding them.
Save that interior! A Mr. Clean sponge will work wonders.

    Your Dad would be proud!
Welcome to the HAMB. It's a bitchin' roadster.

Okay, I have to say something here. I've been reading since the first post. I'm a Chevy guy as you can see in my Avatar Riff, but, I've always thought the Model A roadster was the best of all the roadsters. Full fendered is as cool as can be for me! I love the pics and look of your Dads car. I'm not here to tell you what to do nor would I. I just had to say how cool that car was then and no doubt there is still a lot of cool left in it now. Even after all these years.

Appreciate it 52HardTop. I look back at my original post a couple of weeks ago and it’s amazing how differently I feel about the car now. I regret that I didn’t do my research first before I took it to the other shop, but I think I still have a shot at ending up with a great car.

  25. Take it to Brian Bass. He will do it right. I'm serious. Get it out of the hands of whoever has it and get it to someone with good taste and knows what he is doing. Bass Kustoms in Dallas. Reuse the original rims in the picture too. Badass

Correct for a 30/31 Model A. Deluxe were about 2 inches shorter. The 28/29 were all the same.
