    I'd shop around, there are a few guys making wood kits for A's, some better than others. About 10-12 years ago I bought a top of the line kit from a shop in Colorado for the '29 Tudor I was doing at the time.:)

  3. call snyders and talk to them about it.they are friendly people

    if you buy the body wood kit and the top wood kit you will have all the wood needed for a model A

    Hey Caffeine;
    I am not yet at that state, but the kits that I found from the following website, seem very complete. As anything I am sure, some will be a breeze, and some will take a couple beers to figure out.
    Hope the web page helps....

    the wood for the roof installs from above so if your roof is filled, you will have to do something else. I tacked my metal roof insert in so that I can quickly and easily remove/replace if needed. You might consider removing the insert, installing wood, replacing the insert. But most people are too lazy to do that.:)

    the roof is braced now (albiet needs a little more bracing) so im not worried about the roof much. but im still debating just cutting the entire roof out and redoing it with a removable vinly type deal.

    Originally in the tudors door posts, screws came in through the outside of the pillars. And these screws heads are impossible to get to without removing the entire rear quarter panel:eek:.

    But they were also nailed through all the little holes you'll see inside the rear of the door jam along the rear quarter panel seam, as well as all around the quarter window openings.

    The rest were a combination of screws & nails. The one piece that cannot be replaced without taking the rear quarter panel off is the short piece above the rear quarter windows. This piece goes under the steel framework that goes from the back of the car to the front windshield posts.It needs to be installed before the quarter panel is on the car. This is the part that the top portion of the rear quarter windows nail into.

    Hope this helps a little

    I did not want to start a new post about wood kits, so I found this from a while back. Does anyone know of any alternatives to the wood kit? I was told to bend up some tbing but I would rather not for now. This will be for a model a pickup.

    Thanks

    Used "Cubel" kits before - excellent product, fit and people to work with. Was a shame to cover it up.

    Top wood kits generally, depending on mfgr., consist of the wood above the beams over the door tops, including the front header.
    Body wood kits include the beams over the doors down to the frame, including door post wood and wood around the beack and quarter windows.
    Door Post wood is often offered as a set also.
