What a bitchin' build. I'd say try to QC flip for at least one highway run before writing it off. That hemi should be able to pull it along at just off idle quite well!

The car has been on the road for about a month. It’s got 725 on the odometer and I just got back from the RPM Nationals Barona. I made it to the final two cars in overhead street and lost at the light. Win or not I had the time of my life and can’t wait for the next one! This car is incredible and so much fun to drive. There’s something about getting sideways in 3rd gear that gets your blood going! My best time on the 1/8th mile was an 8.06. I feel like that’s pretty respectable for a car that was built to drive instead of being a straight up race car. I did trailer it to Barona since I was racing. There’s nothing fun about having a malfunction 800 miles from home and trying to figure out how to get it home. Besides, I needed a place to stay while I was there and my van is a camper. Congrats! Looks like you are having a blast, which is the point.
Converts to a 12.66 quarter mile. That's a good ET.

That’s about what I was thinking. Mid 12s or so. The conditions weren’t what I’d consider perfect but I’ll take it. The car is so much fun to drive.

That seaside shot could be your new post picture.
    Idaho might confuse people, though.

Two weeks ago I went to Barona and raced. This weekend I went on an 800 mile reliability run and got to visit several of the scenic parks in Utah. The car isn’t completely done but it did a fantastic job and clicked off the miles without issues. Do I even need to mention how fun driving a Hemi powered Model A can be? It ate up the canyon roads like no body’s business. Most of the time we had great weather but there was one stretch of road where we drove through an absolute downpour for over an hour. I got a first hand look at where I need to work on weatherproofing my car. How did those rear tires work in the rain?

Beautiful car, runs great, fantastic photos, you are livin' the life!
Looks like quite the group, too.
Have you had a chance to swap the QC gears and check how it changes the RPM?

They don’t work well in the rain or snow! I got sideways on the freeway at about 45mph during the heavy downpour. It was kinda scary!

I have not done any testing on the rear end gearing. As it sits the car launches pretty good and with the 5 speed I cruise the freeway at 65 and the tach is sitting right about 2000 in 5th gear. It feels about perfect but now that my trips are done I will do some testing just to see how it feels the other way around. I don’t leave town for the next one for a month or so.

Here’s a teaser from the studio photo shoot. It’s amazing how great it looks! I’m still pinching myself to make sure this is real.

Here are some pictures from the latest show where I received “Best Old Timer” award. it was about an hour from home in a little mountain town. The drive up and back was probably more fun than the event itself.

Sorry that I haven’t updated with more events and pictures. Life has had a different plan for me this summer. Health issues with a family member have canceled most of what I had planned but family takes priority. Here are some pictures from my studio shoot.

I was able to attend Speed Week at Bonneville this year. I always love getting to hang out and see all of the great cars both race cars and spectators hot rods.

You built a real good looking car. I thought it looked good to begin with but you proved us all wrong. This is a wonderful build thread. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
