Sweet Jesus that's a mean looking coupe. I wouldn't do a full fender A any different. Well done.

almost 6" chop, 4 ' channel. I'm 6'2"+, 220lbs. No worries getting in or out. Seats are bolted down- no room for adjusters though.;)
Would've posted sooner, took a lil effort to decipher the photo post method, sorry.
Build it for YOU, that's job 1!!

Thank you. I was shooting for an early 60's look. My build thread is "300 days to build a model A"

Thanks for the kind words DFW31- I've since painted the top of the doors black to carry the paint line from the rear quarters( windshield post is still green). As soon as I load some more pics, I'll attempt a build thread.I started one, but since paint and striping/lettering has been done and it looks a little more"fluid" than before. Sometimes ya don't know till ya do!

With your channel, you should do a 3 3/4 chop. Also chop the radiator shell to keep the body lines straight. Great build.
Good luck. Post some pictures on your progress..

That is one hell of a tough son-of-a-bitch model A coupe.

It's really hard to get these to look tough, but you've got it in one!!!

    Love it.

Agreed about the radiator, but I prefer a 3-3.5" chop. 4" may be cool, but you do have to drive the car at some point and Low is sometimes tough to be comfortable in.

Radiator shell has already been chopped.

ill post pics as soon as I get my buddies to commit to a chop party lol. I really do appreciate all you guys and the positive info. I'm just a 28 yr old that's trying to learn a little everyday. I got a car that I shouldn't have that a buddy of mine put his heart and sole into. It's now my responsibility to see that it gets completed the way it should be. Hopefully I can pull it off before pistons and paint. Organizing a pistons and paint chop demo wouldn't***** either haha!

Please go on... It's going in the car no doubt, I love the look and feel of it. It won't be all over the place, just the seats

Scrap, It's not fake elephant, it's the real deal.
Anyone can put distressed leather or vinyl in a car. This was something different that I was given and its going to look killer.

It is chopped. The grille is the speedway chopped 32 and the shell is the speedway unchopped. I believe it's a 4" difference. After I bought these, I found a chopped shell that went with the grille from speedway.

Ahhhh ok, I see your angle and i respect your view. This hide is from a completely legitimate hunt. There is video of the elephant being completely
Disassembled for a tribe in Tanzania. Every single piece of this animal was used to feed a tribe. Big game hunting is a very controversial topic aNd I get it. This animal was not poached and was hunted the right way. People tend to form an opinion on big game hunting before becoming fully informed. I am by no Means interested in telling you how to feel or think but poaching and proper hunting Are completely different. Poachers are the problem, not the hunters that follow the rules. I hear you, and respect your opinion, but please understand that there are vast differences in the way things are done.

If you're going to pass judgement or imply you feel strongly about something, please don't stop at that. I'm interested on hearing your point of view. While
It may or may not change mine, I am still Interested. Please don't think I'm coming off as aggressive because that is not my intention. It's all for the sake of the conversation.

Every once in a while, something comes along in my life that makes me glad I 'm short (5'6"). Like flying on the airlines. Skinnying under a car without having to jack it up first. Or having a chopped coupe. Mine has a 4" chop, no channel, uses a mopar van mid-seat on speedway adjustable tracks. Height works out just right for me, but some of you big guys would have trouble with it. My visibility is OK - short legs mean I can sit further forward than most.
Width is more the problem. You should see the dogleg bend we had to put on the Hurst shifter handle to move it 4" to the right.

I like 4", for my project, seams like 2"-6" varies so much in overall profile, fenders on vs off, channel or not, 32 rails or model A?
I find cars at shows similar to my style & routinely ask to sit in it to get a feel.
I'll probably end up 3 & 7/8. But im a long way from that step & just wanna drive a summer b4 chopn.
But post more pics, with inches/specs if you guys find more.
My pic has nothing elpful, but pics are more fun to look at.

3'' cut after the Drags got rained out one Sunday.I'd been thinking about it for a while.Put on a "ZZ Top "CD, hooked op the chainfall, got a 2X4, and said "Here we go!"I started by masking everything off, initial cut with a 4 1/2 " angle grinder with a cut-off wheel. and finished the cuts with the dreaded sawzall. Slow and steady- took about three hours to cut, grind and fit, and tack back together.Did the doors and windshield another day. Before and after. ( My interior is very rare vinyl pleats I bought from the natives in Lawrence, Mass.- elephant? maybe we need an exotic interior materials thread?)Your car looks KILLER! Keep up the good work! Mike from Mass.
