Does anyone know whether a Model A coupe or even a truck rear fender has the same outside curve and will fit a 31 tudor sedan? I realize that the inner wheel well on sedans are different from the coupes, but I'm tubbing the wells for increased clearance anyway......if it's just a matter of putting in different mounting points for the coupe fender, it shouldn't be too bad. I'd like steel fenders and sedan fenders are no longer reproduced. My originals are rough. Looking at options. Danke
Coupe and sedan fenders are the same. 1930 to '31 years. Looking at my avatar photo, the rear fenders I used are off a '31 slant windshield 4 door. They mount fine to the '29 body. Clearance should not be a problem unless you are using wheels with huge tires and a deep backset on the wheels. Keep your eye on the "parts for sale" list here. They show up frequently.
There are two groups of fenders: Coupe, roadster and truck are the same. Phaeton, tudor and sedan are the same. The two do not interchange. To make it even more fun, 1931 had a wide bed pickup that had a proprietary fender, which of course I need two of. To answer your question though, I believe the outside curve is the same betwixt them all...
