I've got a BMW 2002 steering box, and I want to put it in my 28/29 Model A. The body won't be channeled. The only thread I've located thus far is this one:

Do y'all think this setup will hold true even with an unchannelled body? I figure it'll probably require a u-joint to offset it for the additional height. Thoughts?

I have used the BMW box on two modifieds, one being my own (my avatar). I came off both frame rails and tied in to the cowl. No flex and no cowl shake. The BMW box works just fine.
    Good luck.

If you have any pics of the setup, can you post them here?

I used a BMW box in my '27 back in 1076.
I was a master tech in the Bay Area, and got a standard (non power) box out of a '75 Bavaria...iy had a sector shaft that was 14" long, so a very short extension was fabbed once outside the cowl.
Hard to find, (most Bavarias were P/S, as they were 'luxury cl***') but "Ultimate Driving Machine", nevertheless.
Dean Moon would have been proud to put eyeballs on that box.
