Hey Kats I am building a thirty A pu and I am considering using the stock tank for the sake of keeping the bed clean. Anyone run the stock tank in a hot rod?

I have two Model A's, that are hot rods. Both of them use the stock tank.

Is there anything particular I should be cautious of when running one?

Shut the valve off when you're not driving. If any of your carb needles and seats are sticky or don't seal perfectly, you'll fill your engine with gas. You'll do this about 5 times. Other than that it's a gas tank like any other gas tank, no need for special handling. 5 million model As proved they worked just fine.

And after making sure it doesn't leak, you might want to convert it to the later column drop that attaches up high at the pinch weld. It is something ford came up with in 1931 because of the other style starting to leak after a while. Snyders sells them.
