   I just installed a flat front crossmember from Hortons but havent welded it in.
   Wondering if I shouldn't build in some caster by grinding lower edge to prevent spring from binding.
   All opinions appreciated.

   Set your frame at the desired rake angle...then set your crossmember in place including the desired caster angle.
   
   So, short answer is yes.
