Hi guys, This may seem like a dumb question but....Will a 30/31 decklid fit on a 28/29 coupe? Your responses are much appreciated. Thanks! Chop
No!! While in reality the skin is the same the under piece shapes the skin differently. If placed side by side the 30/31 does not have quite as much of a curve as a 28/29 TRUST ME I have been through this! I have had experts tell me they are the same and I have had to prove that they are different!!
I am not argueing, but when I ordered my gl*** deck lid, it was for a model A coupe, all 4 years, 28-31. Maybe the originals are different, but the repros stamp em the same? I ordered mine in the Eightees and it was a Speedway product, and even though is was twenty years ago, it was 300 bucks back then! I don't know what they cost now! Pork
i don't know of anywhere that sells decklids for 28/29 and 30/31, they are all marked 28-31, wouldn't surprise me if they needed adjusting to fit.
Brookville sellls them as 28/29 and 30/31. An old car place told me they were the same when he sold me the one marked 30/31. after taking it home and trying to fit it. I took it back and said look order me a 28/29 heres the 600 bucks. If they are different you pay shipping and I get my 600 back. Wellllll when it came in he called me and sounded a bit down. I went down and boy you could really see the difference between the 2. I got my 600 back as well as the 120 for shipping.
