Not a lot of experience with bangers. What would be a good newer distributor for an A-bone? Prefer something with either centrifugal advance or a vacuum that would work on an A. Not much for the little lever stuff. This is an off road TROG / dirt track race car. No street use.

    Thanks guys!

Braton's Antique Auto Part's, www.brattons.com has an Electronic Centrifugal Advance Distributor for Model A's PN 17080, 6V. and PN 17090 for 12V. not cheap about $350 last time I looked.

This is the distributor that I would recommend. These are completely new, complete and will drop right in and you are ready to go. They are very reasonable priced. They have modern capacitor and points. You can use the "crab" original style body/cap and the flat connectors or the "normal" style cap that takes normal plug wires. This is a manual distributor, which I would recommend.

Yes, you can find an original Mallory, etc. and they work. However, a Mallory is expensive if you can find one and they are harder to work on, expensive, and difficult to find parts.

    These are available from Snyder's.

I run an automatic advance Model B dist in my '31 coupe with a Model B engine. In my '31 Roadster pickup I run a stock Model A with modern points plate from Snyders. Both work fine and both cars are used differently.
