I got the doors against the body pretty god, now how can I get them shutting even? I have gaps at the top and the belt line is about 1/4 in low on the doors from the body. I tryed the shim method, but with the top filled(welded van panel) I am not getting any flex in the cowl area. Any ideas? Thanks Bob 29

  2. Need to fit doors before filling the top.

X2. I don't know how you would go about shimming the hinges, but figuring that out is going to be your only option besides cutting the top.

Sounds like your door opening isn't square; it's diamond. If you were to use a porta power and cross jack the "A" pillar forward, it should raise the back of the door.

Like was mentioned, you should have got all of your openings square, before welding in the top. You have to keep measuring and watching your alignment while you are doing this.

Some pictures might help too. Do you have a good gap between the door and the cowl?
